From the "She's got a lot of nerve", files: Trump attacks ambassador on Twitter as she testifies that his words in Ukraine call made her feel threatened

Everywhere Marie Yovanovitch went turned bad. She started off in Somalia, how did that go? Then fast forward to Ukraine, where the new Ukrainian President spoke unfavorably about her in my second phone call with him. It is a U.S. President’s absolute right to appoint ambassadors.

....They call it “serving at the pleasure of the President.” The U.S. now has a very strong and powerful foreign policy, much different than proceeding administrations. It is called, quite simply, America First! With all of that, however, I have done FAR more for Ukraine than O

I bet Schiff had in internal debate: bring this up now, or wait a bit and let Donald put his foot even further down his throat.

It was right to bring it up immediately just for the sake of stopping it tho. Witness intimidation should not just carry on unchecked.

“It’s not a very precise phrase,” she added. “It kind of felt like a vague threat.”
Sounded like a vague threat???
And, she’s another unemployed end-game Obama appointee… nuff said.

Her first ambassador placement was under George W. Bush. She’s also not unemployed.

I can only imagine how I would feel if I were an American. Deeply, profoundly, viscerally embarrassed. You have a 71 year old adolescent in the White House.

As Sam Harris has commented, it seems almost unbelievable that Donald Trump is President.

Incorrect.

Yovanovitch claimed to not understand why she was fired. Trump explained it.

So please feel free to explain why if she was supposedly such a failure in Somalia that Trump would chose to have her in role in Ukraine during his term. Or could it just maybe be that she only became such a ‘failure’ the day Trump decided she wasn’t sycophantic enough?

Perhaps it's time to believe it. ;)

One can be a patriot and be on the wrong side of history.

The only thing Trump is guilty of is upsetting the establishment's (aka "the swamp") applecart.

I can see his point: "why would a country voluntarily do that to itself?"

But it doesnt have to make sense. Often, self destructive behavior has a twisted internal 'logic' while everyone observing is like "why the heck would he do that???"

Trump is a criminal, has committed criminal acts before and during his Presidency, and he is no Patriot.

He is "the swamp."
Then it should be no problem for Democrats to find a criminal act to impeach him on.

So far, no criminal acts have been alleged by a witness. If they cannot find a criminal act ... then there is no reason to convict ... much less impeach.

incorrectly said

She is still with the state department.

you cannot take away her work history because she is being used by the other side.

Not sure why she is a witness, she didn’t witness anything.

but I think she should go to HR if she has an issue. Being paid by the Government and Georgetown isn’t a bad gig.

In her testimony, Yovanovitch testified that Trump had pressured the State Department to remove her, and that she was "incredulous" to be removed based on "unfounded and false claims by people with clearly questionable motives."[19] Yovanovitch stated that after her removal, Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan had told her that she had done nothing wrong but that the State Department had been under political pressure from Trump to remove her since summer 2018.[19] Sullivan, in his own testimony to Congress, corroborated Yovanovitch's testimony, confirmed that Yovanovitch was the target of a smear campaign, and publicly affirmed that Yovanovitch had served "admirably and capably" as ambassador.[34]

Marie Yovanovitch - Wikipedia

Trump needs to verify before he makes statements about people because those statements are often false.
