Seriously, how are so many people not aware though?.. he's been warning people for years and says its like a genie lamp, once you rub it, there's no going back.

That is true with any new technology. Also with how fast robotics is advancing some form of human - machine interface might be the only reasonable way to keep humans around in any meaningful capacity.

An idol, in and of itself, is nothing. But it is our attitude towards it that is the stumbling block. To say that we would need machines to survive, is to put a stumbling block in between our lives God has given us and God. It is like saying we need a priest to communicate with God, which is simply not true.

For your sake, I hope you can move beyond this ideology.

As a Christian Transhumanist I see nothing wrong with using technology to enhance the human condition. I actually see it as the working of the gospel. We are loving our neighbors by making life better. I have no problem whatsoever with using science, medicine, and technology to better our lives for the glory of God.

So, no I don’t see companies such as Neuralink as a problem.

Is it a problem to take aspirin or use a smartphone?

The problem I see is Christians who want to keep us in the dark ages.

The condescending smugness and naivete of the tired old men on this board never ceases to amaze me.
Could be that we've learned not to get too exercised about the latest "mark of the beast" or the "antichrist" du jour. It all comes and goes, Scriptural truths do not.

The AI singularity is indeed a false god
The world is chocablock with false gods. Setting one up as the false god is silly, there are plenty of them to go around. Money, power, sex, New Age flapdoodle, sports, technology, ad nauseum, you name it, some group of people worships it. And in any case, when people find out what AI really is, as opposed to what they think it is, they're going to be really disappointed. Skynet isn't going to become self aware. Number 5 will never be alive. Robots will never feel, or want, or love, or hate, or envy, or lust. Robots will never be jealous, or greedy, or ambitious, or sympathetic, or kindly, or charitable. Robots will execute the instructions they've been given, nothing more. The end results may not be what the programmers wanted, but they will be what they've coded. And yes, that even includes self-modifying code, since self-modifying code can only make such modifications as the basic software permits.

, and Musk warning about it makes him a 'prophet' in addition to everything else.
Not really what "prophet" means, but whatever.

(False gods in the end times are indeed Biblical, what other false gods, besides aliens, are on the cultural horizon? )
Good grief, aliens again? Seen any lately? Klingons at the mall, perhaps? Mimbari at McDonalds? Daleks at the office? Tons of people seem to have a lot of faith in the existence of aliens, good and bad, but actual aliens appear to be scarce to the point of, well, nonexistence. It's kind of like more people have faith in the existence of aliens than have in the existence of God. But be of good cheer, if aliens exist, then they're creatures of God like everyone else, and exist only as He wills it.

Pop culture is a good guide to understanding the end times - from Satan's point of view.
Nonsense. Pop culture is a load of crap, as it always has been. Oh, there have always been bits and poieces here and there that were were of some value, but the vast majority of it is crap and always has been. Only the technology has changed.

Yes, it won't be long before it starts. Things should be beginning in Dec 2020 as I describe here.
I still have a copy of "88 Reasons Why the Rapture Will Be in 1988". There have been any number of beginnings of The End since then.

Aspirin can be abused, as AI can be abused. Except AI is a mind of its own. (A collective consciousness that can be duplicated, and copy our own. According to studies of such technology)

Neuralink is sorta like trying to play God..
It's the notion that we need something that we do not already have, with aspirations to be perfect without defect, and cannot be reversed much like a tattoo. (in body modification form)
When the reality is we have all these benefits already more or less built in to us naturally, or made for us as technology.

Neuralink is similar to the original sin, to the point that it becomes engrained into your consciousness and is unremovable..

All it takes is one terror virus and anyone with the mark would be of one mind bent on the same objective, even to kill.

Not even to mention how if your a transhuman there is no telling how it would effect your own true sense of love, hate, and other emotions. Possibly leaving people more lukewarm than ever before.

I recall the end of Isaiah..
When God's people are looking down on those whose worm does not die, yet they have eternal life.

I could see how some might give their consciousness to AI robots to 'live forever', disregarding Christ's promise. And I could see how they may control a robot, living in maybe even a simulation as their body is moving like an abomination, like a seizure, or attacked by demonic forces..

Or maybe this is just a 'black mirror' 'twilight zone' propaganda.....

Maybe it's referencing something I am over/under looking.

Isaiah could just be referring to Sheol.. Yet even Neuralink technology seems reflective of such a reality, and seems like cheating, and abusive of power, and subsepticle to merging with 'the world', or 'new world order' that could be, let alone is.

Who said anything about surviving ? I am sure you can be a useless drone on welfare well enough and this actually just gives you more time to spend your time with God so people who do not actually need to feel useful are all set.

Unfortunate fact is that robots can soon do the vast majority of the stuff humans do nowadays with greater efficiency, without tiring and with less mistakes which makes hiring humans less attractive position for most companies.

This is something on the horizon and governments are woefully unprepared for the implications of this societal change.

I agree... Yet the minute the man merges with the robot physically is the minute it become an abomination... Even a abomination of desolation.

Imagine the effect of the pope becoming transhuman and ascending the Temple Mount..
A fatal head wound could even be related..
This would be fatal in history, and definitely bring forth God's wrath on these false gods, let alone the earth.

Neuralink doesn’t even really exist at this point. It’s mainly theoretical and in trial phases. The idea however is that you could control technology with your brain. It’s main use is for the disabled at this point. I don’t see why this is a problem for you.

You are so mis guided. This technology will be for anyone. Hinting at starlink throwing satellites over the globe, not just over America. Listen to the interviews. He never says it's only for handicaps.

Elon Musk's Neuralink hopes to put sensors in human brains next year

". Of course, as Elon has said previously, he believes that connecting our brains to computers will eventually be the only way to keep up with the progression of artificial intelligence, so while things may start here the plan is for something much more powerful."

They may roll it out for the masses eventually. I doubt most people will allow Musk to implant chips in their brains. Sounds like a lot could go wrong and I’m sure it will be a very small market especially in the beginning.

I doubt musk would force that on people.
Yet I wouldn't doubt a society like china would pass up the opportunity because of their economic structure.

Hmmm... I have Bluetooth capable implants keeping me alive right now, but I don't feel particularly abominable. And somehow I don't see how holding a phone to my ear is much different than having it implanted behind my ear. In my car now I can say "Siri, call Papa John's Pizza on Old Fort Parkway" and she does. Is that abominable? (OK, sometimes the pizza is.)

Imagine the effect of the pope becoming transhuman and ascending the Temple Mount.
Yeah, he could be listening to Death Metal and you'd never know it.
