Hello all,

This is the very first time I have ever opened up about my masturbation addiction. I have seen a mass amount of recovery videos and I really want to make the change where I stop today. I have seen a video about Bill Wiese (Man who went to hell for 23 minutes). Obviously hell, is no good place and nobody wants to go there. But I have said prayer to God and I really want to know if I can still go to heaven. I'm extremely stressed about this as I just couldn't imagine at all going to hell, it's bringing me down so much. I don't exaclty know what else to say, but I know that I'm 100% willing to change my life! I just want to know if I can still change it, is there still time to change it and will it allow me to change my destination to heaven.

Sincerely, Daniel.

I struggle with lust and I'm battling my way back to God through repentance and also fear hell. Battle on with Jesus friend and don't give up

Ezekiel 33:19-20 Amplified Bible (AMP)
19 But when a wicked man turns back from his wickedness and practices what is just (fair) and right, he will live because of it. 20 Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not right.’ O house of Israel, I will judge you, every one [of you] in accordance with his own ways!”

We don't get to heaven by being sinless. God knows that we all have inclination to sin and the Apostle Paul expressed our dilemma this way:

Rom 7:14-8:4

15 I don’t know what I’m doing, because I don’t do what I want to do. Instead, I do the thing that I hate. 18 I know that good doesn’t live in me—that is, in my body. The desire to do good is inside of me, but I can’t do it. 19 I don’t do the good that I want to do, but I do the evil that I don’t want to do. 21 So I find that, as a rule, when I want to do what is good, evil is right there with me.

24 I’m a miserable human being. Who will deliver me from this dead corpse? 25 Thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then I’m a slave to God’s Law in my mind, but I’m a slave to sin’s law in my body. 1 So now there isn’t any condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.

The point is that God has redeemed our human nature in Jesus. By trusting in this redemption, we are declared righteous by His grace. We receive renewed minds, which can get closer and close to the will of God every day.

So, love God. Go to church. Read the Bible. Pray. You will not be perfect, tomorrow. But He will lead you in the way you should go.

Why not give it a try? Stop doing what you believe will send you to hell, and see if it gets you in heaven.

Why do you need confirmation from Man before trying to make it to heaven? Seems like something simple to give up for a great reward....It is worth a try....even if it didnt work out.......like giving a dollar to buy a lotto ticket.......hey, you never know....

Not enough scriptures and dogma?

You you are a smoker....quitting may extend your life multiple years..but there is a chance that it wont......so should one seek multiple opinions before trying to extend life? If there are a few that say, you might not be able to extend life, would you not try anyway?

If you believe there is a chance stopping will bring you life.....why not just stop? What does what everyone else think matter?

Hi Daniel, no loving God is going to send you to hell for masturbating, which is a perfectly normal thing for a young person to be doing.

Bill Wiese also DID NOT spend 23 minutes in hell. Bill Wiese is an author trying to sell a book, which is a work of fiction, NOT factual. He isn't the 1st person who has pulled a con trick like this to make money from gullible Christians, & he won't be the last!

You DON'T need to be stressed by this. If God was going to send people to hell for masturbating, then heaven is going to be a very lonely place, because there will be very very few Christians who havent masturbated!

Well of course stopping sinning is a worthy goal. But your comment reminded me a little bit of this;
As if stopping sinning was just a matter of willpower. It's a matter of reliance on God. But belief that touching yourself will send someone to Hell is ungrounded. We should cease from sinning to become closer to God not because of fear, IMO.

I did not say how one was to go about not sinning. Since you seem to know how.....Please tell us.....Has your reliance on God worked for you? Are you now without sin? And if not, has God failed you, in not keeping you from sin?

I spoke nothing of anything sending anyone to hell. The fact is....there are people who are told that one more smoke will kill them, who stop instantly. One would think that if the belief in Hell fire was real, that should be enough to make one stop there path to that hell without needing to talk to anyone else about it.

No, I'm not without sin. Yes, the more I rely on God, the less I fall into sins.
I'm pretty sure there is something in scripture about confessing your sins to one another and giving each other Godly advice. It certainly can help to tell others.

Hey, I had the same problem as you i also had a masturbation addiction, but now I’m 97 days clean. And this Forum site will help you a lot. NoFap® If you stop masturbation you will experience normal and sometimes EXTREME withdrawal symptoms. It’s the same as quitting drugs. But people always want to help each other.

Like it will be very very hard. BUT it’s 10 times worth it also because of the NoFap benefits ;).

I would say it this way. It gets easier, Every day, it gets a little easier. But you gotta do it every day. That’s the hard part. But it does get easier.

actually I think it’s good that you fear hell. I do the same and remember fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom. But don’t fear to much that you stop asking for forgiveness because god always forgives if you truly repent.

“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”

Acts 16:30

Clear enough. Try to be better and better, but without fear, you are already saved.

You also need to accept Jesus Christ as your saviour. And receive the Holy Spirit.

John 3:3

Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”

Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."

The verse you quoted does not support your statement.

The verse says that you must be born again. Nothing about "accepting Jesus as you saviour" or receving the Holy Spirit as conditions for being saved.
