Welp, fixing to be homeless come Monday.

This is just so wrong. Does your landlord not understand how making just a little more money has the consequence of putting fellow human beings out on the street? Does that prospect honestly not give him any pause? :(

Apparently not unfortunately. I’m praying that I can find an even better place for less money. Though I may have to give up some of my fur babies.

Enjoying Death Stranding thus far.

I think some people freaked out because you don't just kill everything that moves in the game.. lol. Really.. you could say many games repetitive.. all you do is deliver packages.. or all you do is just gun people down.. lol.

I hope @somebodysangel_88 and her fiance found a place by now. It is just so wrong to have the power to just kick another human being out on the street because you feel like making more money. =/

I must say that Sonic does look a whole lot better. Props to Paramount for listening to the fans and addressing the serious issues with the design; I know that's not easy nor cheap to pull off. In fact, I don't think that's ever happened before.

I'm not really fond of the story revealed so far in the trailer, and find the humor lackluster. But I may still check it out, especially now that Sonic doesn't look like a mutant spawned out of a horror movie. ^_^ To me, the design is a modern re-imagining of Sonic done right, and shows how animated characters can be given a realistic look while maintaining stylization (avoiding the uncanny valley as much as possible in the process).

We were just talking about this at work. I'm impressed all around. The redesign looks great, and they seem to have made other improvements as well. The fact that the studio listened to the fans is amazing. Let's hope other studios follow their lead. This is a game changer, no pun intended.

1:03 the fans reaction to the first sonic design.

Sonic has had the best glow up of 2019. Now he doesn't look like a mutated rat with a monkey's body.
Seems like they tried to go for a more "realistic" look for the first design while keeping all the elements that made Sonic recognizable but they went to far into realism. You're talking about a talking blue hedgehog that wears shoes and gloves and runs at supersonic speed while collecting rings. There's no way you can try and make that realistic without it looking creepy. Just look up 'realistic Simpsons characters'... actually, don't.

I still think Jim will... Carry... this film.

The first design was laughably bad, I'll admit; it takes willful effort to fail that hard. Although, I do wonder if the whole thing was orchestrated, simply to give us the best memes the internet world has ever known. ^_^

I do find the whole idea of re-imagining animated characters in a modern, realistic way quite intriguing overall. I'm not sure where exactly it all started. But there seems to be a constant tug-of-war to master this concept, and to find a formula that works.

The Disney remakes / reboots were interesting at first, took advantage of the nostalgic market and promised to bring new life to past classics. But they just seemed to lack the creativity and heart of the originals (with the Lion King remake especially). The great thing about 2D animation is that it allows for giving characters highly exaggerated expressions in a stylized way. If animators attempt the same technique with CGI, while also going for realism, it comes across as creepy and repulsive - almost as if our minds respond defensively, subconsciously taking notice of something fake / deceptive.

The only way a realistic re-imagination of animated, classic characters seems to work is by changing the theme and feel of the movie itself; there has to be a reason for the change in design. That would explain why many Disney remakes and reboots come across as darker, more mature and edgier. It better fits the realistic look. Although at the same time, may turn off many who enjoyed the warmth, whimsical nature and passion of the originals. The updated version of the scene Friend Like Me from Aladdin did seem to better achieve combining realism and exaggeration, however (despite the unavoidable creepiness of seeing Will Smith's head on a CGI genie).

I think these modern reboots just prove that 2D animation isn't going to become outdated anytime soon, and that both mediums of 2D animation and CGI should be respected in their intended purposes.

Okay I firmly believe that my friend who passed away ten years ago this month was reincarnated as my guardian angel... You know who you are and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
