Idk if this thread is in the right section of this forum. If not, I'm sorry. Lately I've been missing my mom and dad a lot and been constantly crying all the time about them. I've been told by people saying "your parents can hear and see you and they don't want to see you this way". Does god say anything in the bible about this?

I lost someone dear to me and I know she is with Jesus. So I often tell Jesus to let her know how much I miss her. I learned a long time ago that demons can deceive us. They know our whole history and others as well, so they can deceive us into believing the dead are talking to us; like mediums claim. The Bible says to stay away from that. But the Bible also says there's a cloud of witnesses (people who died before the resurrection) but who are cheering us on to finish the race. So I do believe Jesus gives them your message, but I don't try to hear or sense them.

Hope this helps! Hugs!

Thank you. So apparently God/Jesus gives our passed loved ones messages instead of them seeing or hearing us?

My condolence with the passing of your loved ones, that must be very hard to come to grip with. i know from people who have been completely overcome by their grief and sought out to be in contact with their loved ones again, but outside of Christ it is not possible to reach your loved ones for they are in Heaven awaiting you.

The Psalmist says "Whom have in Heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire besides you." (Psalm 73:25) so to place your mum and dad before God is not going to work i afraid. However your mum and dad are with Him so in Him you can find your parents back again and let Him comfort you with the good life they have with Him right now.

It is highly likely that your parents are still involved in life down here up Above. When Isaiah preached he preached to Heaven and earth the words of God. (Isaiah 1:2, Isaiah 49:13) So heaven can hear what is being said down on this earth. We also know the angels long to see God's prophecies come into fulfilment

The Prophet Jeremiah 51:48 also shows us that Heaven is involved in the punishment of the wicked

"Then heaven and earth and all that is in them will shout for joy over Babylon, for out of the north destroyers will attack her,” declares the Lord."

So if you seek to contact your parents in Heaven then i'm afraid that this will misfire badly but you can rest assured that they are with Jesus now and rule over life with and in Him. Through Jesus you can know that soon you will be reunited and that grief is to be overcome not succumb by.

Place your parents safely with Jesus and seek out Jesus as if you would seek out your parents for in reality this is so.

i hope this comforts you.

I think they do see us because the Bible says there's a cloud of witnesses. I am just careful not to believe we can communicate with them because the Bible says not to do that.

I am sorry for your loss and having also lost both parents can understand just how much you miss them as I do mine.
It is very hard.

What helps me the most is asking myself could I ever wish them back here?
No, in all honesty even though I would love us to be together still, I could never be sorry that they are with the Lord.

I don't know if they see us or not, the main thing is that GOD does.

He knows everything we are feeling and knows how we feel.
What about when Jesus was on the cross separated from the Father? For us- so we know He feels out deepest sorrow and understands.

However there is a wonderful place prepared for those who love Him and when we get there we will never be separated again from all we loved who were in the Lord and I cling to that when I have those dark times of sadness.
I hope this is of some comfort to you, it doesn't mean you shouldn't cry or be sad, but just remember what awaits us.

God bless you dear one.:groupray:

I will tell you two experiences I had. If anyone wants to argue about them, sorry, this is not a debate forum. Before I begin, I certainly believe that we should not try to contact the dead, most especially through any kind of mediums. The Bible forbids that. Of course demons love to deceive us. But in my experiences, below, I was not trying to contact anyone and in fact had declared myself to be an agonistic at those times.

The first experience had to do with someone I had a major crush on. He was gorgeous. He was charming and intellectual. Shortly before our first date to be I felt that a kindly step aunt, who had passed on not too long before then, was telling me, inaudibly, not to get involved with him. Now, again, I was declaring myself to be an agnostic. Yet I paid attention. I was already concerned that he might be an alcoholic, so for a reality check, when he came to my home I had some liquor out that I had never touched and watched to see how he would react to it. Well, he didn't get falling down drunk or anything, but that was our one and only date.

Within just a few months he committed suicide. On reflection it was obvious that he was a very troubled man.

The next experience I had, again still declaring myself to be an agnostic, was about 2 years later. I had been fired from my job, which I deserved as I had a bad temper and awful social skills. My unemployment was running out and I was having a hard time finding another job. Then I totaled my car! Police brought me back to my sister's home, where my daughter and I were living. Naturally I was sorta stunned.

Well, I was standing in the kitchen, with the phone behind me. Suddenly I had this experience where in my mind's eye I saw an older man behind me putting his arm around my shoulders, and in my mind's ear he said "Everything is going to be alright." Well! I started to argue with him! Mentally. "How can you say that? I've lost my job, my unemployment is running out and I just totaled my car." I never heard from him (or my step aunt) another time. But suddenly the phone rang behind me.

A woman had seen my name on sme register where I took tests for state jobs. She asked if I wanted to go for an interview, but seemed somewhat doubtful that I would, as the job would be in an institution for extremely physically handicapped, and generally mentally handicapped, people. All those deformed bodies had made other job interviewees turn away. But to me it was a job. Finally.

I took it. Things turned out way better than "alright" in my estimation. Within a few months I made up a non verbal picture based communication system for one of my students, who seemed to have a mind, but could not communicate. He eventually got out of the institution into assisted living, learned to read and so on. And btw he told me later that not too long before I showed up "I was praying that someone would come along and show that I have a mind."

Other residents there were found who could communicate with non verbal systems. Since I had a liberal arts degree, and the state needed people with accreditation in communication skills to work in places where most professionals did not want to work, I (along with 2 others) was given a complete stipend for 2 years to go and get a masters degree such as they wanted. The only stipulation was that I give them 3 years of service after I got my degree.

Now the fruit of that experience, with the man behind me, from Heaven I believe, had more than practical good fruit. I reflected that there must be a Heaven, as I just somehow felt sure that's where he came from, and therefore there must be a God. So I began to pray and believe and eventually became a Christian.

As for that man I am not sure, but I suspect he was my daughter's great grandfather on her father's side. He died before I could have met him, but what I saw in my mind's eye seemed to conform to what he looked like in this life. He was a Christian and reportedly a very righteous person.

Now, there is a man, Dean Braxton, who is very well documented as having been dead for 1 3/4 hours. No respiration. No heart beat. All that time. You can see his emergency care doctor on a CBN vid saying "It is a miracle...a miracle...that he is alive and has no brain damage" and in fact is now normal in every way. He has a book and many vids on You Tube. I know many NDEs are fakes, but I listen to those with heavy medical documentation, and to those, like Braxton, who back up what they saw in Heaven, with Scriptures.

He definitely says that the dear departed are looking after us if they are in Heaven! And oh yeal, in some NDEs I have heard about others being told exactly what I was told, "Everything is going to be alright."

Some say we go into a soul sleep when we die. I don't believe that. In Revelation we see saints in Heaven, under the Altar, for example, who ask when their deaths will be avenged. They are very aware of what is going on down on earth.

Anyway, in short, yes, I do believe that saved departed relatives do watch over us. How that all works out, well, I don't really know.

Another interesting tidbit from Braxton... He says that your, saved, DNA family will be with you throughout eternity, in an even more special way than with others in Heaven. We were created to be together forever.

People, particularly ones who are grieving, want to believe that their loved ones are looking down on them, but there is no Biblical reason for thinking that they actually do. That they KNOW of us who are still in the flesh, and that they PRAY on behalf of all of us, has support, but not what you're asking about, "Aquatic Waves."

Thousands of years of anguish they have suffered, if "cloud of witnesses" means they are condemned to watch us struggle down here.

Rather, "cloud of witnesses," placed into context, means "a person who gives testimony of the truth," which is what "witness" always means in scripture.

P.S. I will respond to your crying over your parents. The Bible says there is a time to grieve. May you be helped to grieve unto healing but to eventually, in the Father's timing, let go and move on. It is inappropriate for others to try to tell you how, or how long, you grieve.

Sorry for your loss, first of all.

If they're in Heaven, they're probably living according to Revelation 7:9-17. Whether they can specifically see you or not, I couldn't say. If they can, verse 17 suggests that they would only be able to see you when you are being good, or that they would need to be comforted by God if they see you sin, or be harmed.

All of this will be more clearly explained to Christians when we get to Heaven. I could be way off.

One thing we know for sure is that you will see your loved ones who died in the Lord again and I believe soon:

15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words (1 Thessalonians 4) :amen:
