Seriously have no idea what to do. I messed up Gods plan for my life and I feel there's no way back. Help?

Are you concerned that you've messed up things for God? Or are you anxious for yourself?

You can't mess up things for God. No matter how you act, God gets things done the way He wants them done. Period. You haven't the power to derail God in any way whatever.

What does it say about your view of God that you think He doesn't give second chances, that He can't or won't redeem your mistakes? It seems to me that the Gospel is all about God redeeming us from ourselves, from our mistakes and sin.

To what, exactly, do you feel there's "no way back"? To God's plan for your life? To a joyful walk with Him? To what?

Do you think maybe you're a bit too preoccupied with yourself? Anxiety and fear are always connected in some way to self-centeredness. We fear for ourselves because we care about ourselves, right? Jesus shows the way to be free of this self-centered anxiety in Matthew 16:24-25.

Hi friend,

You have to tell us more about what's happened. It's hard to give advice, not knowing your situation.

How do you know you've messed up God's plan for your life?

God's will is that we come to Jesus and have eternal life, John 6:40, be holy, 1 Thessalonians 4:3 and glorify him by bearing fruit, John 15:8.
All these happen, or start to happen, when we have received the Holy Spirit. Jesus also promised that the Spirit would guide us into all truth.

In the bible King David messed up badly. Committed adultery with Bathsheba then killed her husband to cover it. Confronted by Nathan the Prophet and everyone knew. He was forgiven.

John Newton who wrote Amazing Grace after he became a Christian he started transporting slaves to America. Somewhere along that line he knew he messed up and then he wrote Amazing Grace.

God loves us in spite of what we do. The secret is the cross and what Jesus did. Jesus was tortured for our mess ups. Look at the cross mate. The Father looks at us through the blood of Jesus. Oh and repent that is say sorry.

Seriously have no idea what to do. I messed up Gods plan for my life and I feel there's no way back. Help?

I'm perplexed with what to do with myself and my life. It's like I'm in darkness. Children of the light probably dont experience this state that I'm in.

I feel like I've gone down the wrong path and dont know how to get back to it

Honestly thinking about my life right now is making me physically sick.

Hi, I have autism, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. I have felt this way before.

The first thing I can tell you is that by feeling these things about yourself show that you love God. If you were to not care what road you were going down, if you did not care that you felt that you were drifting away from God and going down a wrong path, and didn't feel physically sick then that would be something that is very dangerous.

Now know this God's word says there is nothing that can separate you from him. There is nothing that can pluck you from God's hand. There is no angel nor demon, nor worldly power that can take you from him. The only thing that can separate you from him is you choosing not to be with him and as I said before the very notion that you are feeling these things show that you want to be with God.

Here's a parable paraphrased from scripture, there were two men that went to pray to God. One man was a sinner and prayed to God for forgiveness of his sins and all the evil he had done. The other man was a holy man and thanked God that he was not like the man who was a sinner. Which man was doing what was right?

My advice is to read God's word everyday. Every time you feel worried pray. Possibly listen to hymns or christian music. There could also be a psychological cause to what you are feeling. If this is the case some advice I feel God has given me is to realize that the bad thoughts are like emotional pain. If you were to fall down and get hurt you wouldn't try to think through the pain you are feeling from falling; that would probably make it feel worse. Well, it's the same with emotional pain if that is the case. I've found the best way to deal with emotional pain is to internalize it to be as physical pain and something you just have to get through until it's over.

Anyway I hope my words have helped you. Know that God loves you, that's the reason he choose to die for you. I'll reiterate that I recommend reading God's word because that has personally helped me so much. Also I am going to quote something I wrote about salvation in another thread maybe it will help you realize how much God loves you.

The very power of God, the awesomeness of God, is what he did for us on the cross. God became human to teach us how to live, to die an undeserved death, and to rise from the dead. See, sin is selfishness and by God choosing to die when he is blameless and take the blame for all our selfishness, all of our sin, he performed the ultimate act of selflessness. When people realize who Jesus is and realize what he did and that he didn't have to do that, but choose to do that, even when people were mocking him, spitting on him, and torturing him, that's what saves someone, that's what breaks their sin and sets them free from selfishness.

God went through all that to prove to you that he loves you. Hope you get to feeling better.

I messed up Gods plan for my life
Not possible.

It's not like there's a blueprint for your life and you can miss it. Life is full of mistakes. We all mess up possibilities, but life is full of possibilities and God is with us in it all.

The idea of one plan for your life is a curious mix of determinism and free will that is logically not possible, theologically untrue, and experientially and philosophically not liveable.

Don't kid yourself, you don't have the power to thwart God's will. Paul teaches us to be anxious for nothing.

Hi, I hope you remember me. I empathize with you in the most sincere way. Something that helps is this: Romans 5:8, While we were still sinners Christ died for us.

If God didnt ask us to be perfect to display his love in this way, then there is no way he expacts us to be perfect after. Like Paul wrote to the Galatians.

It helped me, and I cant remember the name of the book I read that in, but again the crux was God is always love if I fail or succeed. He loves me when I screw up, and he loves me when I am walking the straight and narrow.

We live in a rewards based society that says to get rewarded or earn favor you muat do good. If we are bad then we are punished and chastised. God doesnt work that way.

He loves me when Im good and bad. He loves me when I have done well and when I have messed up. That is why he is always ready and willing to forgive.

God IS love... always

I really don't think that anything takes God by surprise.

Own up to what you did... take your due repercussions and move on. God can do things that you don't expect or anticipate... Pray.... and have faith.

You
messed up God's plan for your life? You know you can't do that, right?

God knows you'll mess up from time to time, and He has a plan for how to turn your mistakes into something good. Sure, it might have been better if you hadn't made a mistake, but nothing can mess up God's plan. Satan's a lot more powerful and intelligent than any human, and he's been trying to mess God's plans up for thousands of years on purpose, to no avail. You having a moment of weakness ain't gonna hold a candle to that.

Besides, God died to wash away your sins and mistakes. They were all forgiven before you were born. And since you accepted His forgiveness, they're washed away. Sure, there still might be some cause and effect (If you sin by kicking a dog, God may forgive you, but you might still get chomped), but mistakes are something He died to cleanse, and if you didn't make mistakes, He wouldn't have needed to die for you, and you would never have gotten to experience His amazing Love.

I just cant see how this is Gods will for my life. This path. It seems so desolate

You have not failed Gods plan for your life.

You are looking for Gods plan in this life, thats the small picture, he's plan for you is not about this life but the next, it is about the kingdom of God

Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

God's work is you, and God's children are so so precious in his sight. Each one worth more then anything in this world, and you are his work.

While the road may seem dark and empty atm, God puts us through these things because he loves us so much, so that we grow into him.. through trial he is refineling you into something so precious, he is making you ready for the kingdom of God.

As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.

Bit of a random verse but it explains my point. God has the power to rain down fire, destroy and consume all of israel enemies with the blink of an eye, so why did he not?

That wasnt his plan, his plan had more to do with Israel, God was teaching them to rely on him, God was teaching them to have faith in him. God was teaching them, to turn to him and that he is their God and that they are his children.

In the same way, God is using the darkness to teach you. I do not know what it is he is teaching you atm, but i can tell you that he is working on you, and his work is perfect and good.

A couple of suggestions.... When the panic thoughts hit you, mentally disagree with them. Tell yourself they are wrong. You have made it this far in life, you most definitely will turn things around now. Then pull back. Allow yourself to make changes that you rejected before. For instance, if you need a job, don't feel that you must have the best job in the world. Allow yourself to find a job that is easy to get. Whatever the issue is, tell yourself things will work out and allow yourself to scale back on your expectations. Know this: the people in our lives can lead us down negative paths. Whether your situation was completely due to your actions or if others influenced your path, there is a way out. Look around. Step off your path. Try something new, go somewhere unfamiliar--but keep your eyes on God. God will stay with you. Listen. Take a step. If you make a change and you hear your 'knower' crying out that it's wrong, reverse out. Hearing our 'knowers' and acting upon what we hear is akin to hearing the Holy Spirit. Fear does not come from God. Tell fear you recognize it, then go to God in prayer. Now, physically there are ways to off put panic as well. Three supplements may very well help: 1) in the morning, vitamin B-6, 2) in the afternoon or with dinner, Magnesium, 3) after dinner or before bed, L-Tryptophan. None of these supplements should be a problem for you, but check with your doctor if you suspect you could react to them. Try them for a month...do you notice improvement? Next is exercise. When we are anxious over our security, etc., we are programmed to act. So if we exercise when anxiety comes on, (anxiety may be our way of telling us "Danger, you need to take action..."), we can retrain our reaction to anxiety by going into action. In other words, we may retrain our reaction to stress from being that of feelings of anxiety to that of taking action. This is an important concept. Even just standing up or moving to a different room is a reprogramming effort. Next is sleep. We get tired of people telling us to sleep, exercise, and eat properly. But this advice is 100% helpful, 100% valid. If worry keeps you from sleeping, following the supplementation and exercise suggestions may help. B-6, along with other important functions, fosters energy. Magnesium relaxes our muscles. L-Tryptophan helps us to sleep. One doctor tests for levels of these three compounds when his patients have anxiety and depression issues. If one or more of them is low, he helps his patients through supplementation. Next, please know that many people are going through what you are. Many. You are loved. We are like children before God's eyes, children who are growing up. View yourself through God's eyes. We see our children as imperfect beings, going through all the phases from babyhood to adulthood. But they are always growing. God forgives you for your mistakes...you must forgive yourself. Forgive yourself and keep taking steps forward. Now, prayer. "Jesus, God the Father, and Holy Spirit, please minister to this person's mind, body, soul, and spirit. Reveal to them their next steps. Push away then replace all fear and misgivings with Your perfect peace. I ask this for myself, as well, and for all those whom You desire to minister to in this same way. Thank You for Your love, grace, provision, and guidance. In the power of Jesus' shed blood and resurrection life we send this prayer and receive Your aid. We also ask for help from your holy angels. Amen."

After my long answer, here is a short but heartfelt thought: It sounds like God may be calling you to do something. Seek that something out in a big way. You have a good start on this forum, and a lot of prayer warriors behind you. One method you may try: sit on the floor or outside on the ground with a pad of paper and a pen. Write out a brief question to God at the top of the paper. Then sit and wait for your impressions and write them down. Practice patience in this. Wait, perceive, write.

Are you disobeying any of God's biblical commands or laws? Is the "path" a moral path? Or is it some other path that the Bible doesn't talk about?
