What the?! The away force is centrifugal force. As a motorbike rider if I didn't drop my weight into the corner or power on out of the turn I'd high-side (been there). So where's this alleged centripetal force pulling me towards the centre?
What blows my mind is that the sun holds Pluto in orbit... but two snooker balls can be set on a billiard table, 1mm apart, for months and never draw together and touch....

lol Snopes...... seriously? hahahahahah... Snopes :doh:That's even worse than Wiki for validity... If Snopes did a check on Snopes.. they would be found "false".....

No matter what you think of snopes, if you had read what they said, they make a very salient point: so they go to the trouble of faking their deaths, then let them continue on with their lives without even bothering to change their names?

It's beyond ridiculous. I seriously can't believe anybody buys it. Such a dumb claim. You got trolled.

If you would take the minute effort required to do the math, your mind would calm down. For instance, the mass of the sun is roughly 10000000000000000000000000000000 times larger than that of a snooker ball.

Pluto's orbit is roughly 100000000000000 times bigger than the distance separating the snooker balls.

Really? Well, I see it as mass vs distance..... It's all proportional... Either the sun should not have an effect on Pluto... or the snooker balls should move together...

Two large planets in space with a size and distance, proportional to the snooker balls, would collide.

Snopes is biased. Their data is suspect... It is not even close to being valid.

Two large planets in space with a size and distance, proportional to the snooker balls, would collide.

What does Newton's Law of gravity say? We can work out these proportions.

The force of gravity is proportional to the product of the two masses, and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.

The mass of the sun is about 10^31 times bigger than the mass of a snooker ball.
The mass of Pluto is about 10^23 times bigger than the mass of a snooker ball.
The distance between the sun and Pluto is 10^14 times bigger than the distance between the center of the snooker balls.

M1 * M2 / distance^2

= (10^31) * (10^23) / (10^14) ^2

= 10^54 / 10^28

= 10^26

The force between the sun and Pluto is 100000000000000000000000000 times bigger than the force between the snooker balls.

The force between the snooker balls is negligible. If you leaned a playing card against a snooker ball, it would not be enough to set the ball rolling, and the force from the playing card is bigger than the force of gravity from the other ball. So no, when we look at the proportions, we don't expect the snooker balls to move.

Still, it's a mass vs distance.... Pluto should fly away... or.. the billiard balls should come together... all the math in the world would show the same... mass vs distance... period.

Of course, you are presented with particular data that is testable, verifiable, and/or falsifiable. So a general claim about general bias is irrelevant to these particular claims. Rather than complain about a general bias at Snopes, you should refute the particular claims presented.

Irrelevant to my post.

You can go ahead and continue your facade that you haven't made up your mind about flat earth. But when you fall for stupid junk like that Challenger claim...it's pretty obvious to the rest of us where your bias lies.

Are you an astrophysicist ... or even just a regular physicist ?

If not, I can see how your mind might be blown.

If you're not a physicist, can you link to any you have consulted ... ?

Without the math for confirmation, such speculation is pointless ...

That's right, 6 out of 7 found same full name or surname, right age group, look identical (2 identical twins!) Sure, sure. You're a coincidence theorist, tell me what are the chances of that?

Now what are the chances, what are they mate? Come on champ, come on tiger, crunch the numbers, do tell.

So you're saying that they're intelligent enough to have this big conspiracy that no one has been able to prove, yet they are too stupid to even change their names?

Even the police know enough to do that when they put people into witness protection!

I think you are on to something.
Here are a couple more examples.
