Not the "real" Christians, just the "posers".
?? The government of the usa has considered the Christian faith to be an enemy of the government and of the country for almost a hundred years or longer.

Probably because they have no clue of what real Christianity is.
I can't see how they consider loving God and neighbor as ourselves as a threat to them.

Look online using various searches ..... Remember most people hate God. This is what God said long ago, and it has not changed .

Thanks, but no thanks.
Most people don't want to be told what to do.
God tells us what to do.
The natural man will not submit to anything that...crimps their style.
Their style is self service, at the expense of others, and self in some cases.

Indeed. It was just as much a lie then as it is now.

Rather than just saying "it is true", please provide your supporting evidence that the majority of people at any point in history have hated God.

Only if you think that not being educated makes you dumb.

I think that's a dumb idea.

What annoys people who are educated in some subject is when people who aren't educated in that subject claim to know better. This is sometimes known as the 'Dunning-Kruger effect' (or 'little do they know how little they know'), where their ignorance of the subject prevents them from realising how wrong they are about it.

Oh, but you are very ignorant about the things of God sadly, more than christians about evolution in comparison.
It's harder to know about God than evolution sometimes.

My post was about education in specific subjects, not the 'things of God'. You have no idea what I know about the 'things of God', which, ironically, makes your comment literally ignorant, and therefore says more about you than me.

Knowing about God is knowing about specific things about him, which i'm sure you are totally oblivious to that. Being an atheist your profile in this forums says it all on how much you know about God.

Playing the "you're just an atheist" card doesn't win you any points here. Especially since what you are describing in these discussions re: "knowing God" is entirely non-demonstrable.

What specific things about God do you think I'm totally oblivious to?

Being an atheist means not believing in God, not being ignorant about God.

Have you met many atheists?

But you can know for sure that there is a God... and an atheist doesn't know even the very basics of God, at least that he exists and he is good and you can have a relationship with him, that like abc of trying to get close to him and the truth, usually God gets close to us first but you must have the door at least somewhat open if not, if you only ask for evidence about God and judge him and reject him, and not search for something better, then that is not how it works.

First, you don't know he exists and that is the very basics of the basics. If you knew and you not are a 'spawn of satan' of a bad person, you would be a christian.

You don't believe in him which means you don't know him, which means you are more far away from the 'things of God' that only an spiritual person with his spirit can know.

That's cool, but keep in mind that we're not all atheists here and that the discussion s not about the existence of God in any case.

You can't demonstrate this to be true though. This is what I meant about the fact all you have are non-demonstrable claims.

You can't claim this because you don't know that any of this is true. Especially given there are many atheists that were former theists.

All you're doing is making non-demonstrable assertions that add nothing of value to the discussion.

As a 'rather sane' person i can confirm God is personal and interacts with people, think as you wish, but here is my testimony that i and others have experienced things with God and have the absolute certainty he is up there. If what a person experienced is not enough to even you consider what we have to say and you require 'scientific proof' then you won't find enough proof or God.

Also 'former theists' don't exist as 'former christians' because when you meet the holy spirit and God, there is no one that can tell you not even yourself that God doesn't exists, and after having that kind of encounter with God you would need to betray him totally to become a 'former christian' and that doesn't appeal to much people, because after meeting God people get convinced enough about God and that is totally worth it to try to get along and have a good relationship with him, having God is so much better, and nobody who knows the holy spirit would want to just separate themselves from him, and reject God altogheter. This is the craziest and unthinkable thing a person would do after knowing the truth and God.

How fortunate and special for you that god revealed himself to you. Why does he not just do that with everyone, and we can be done with all these silly arguments?

BUT this thread isn't a discussion about whether god exists or not. You can be certain about god's existence, and STILL be wrong about evolution.

Your (and other theists') personal revelation doesn't do someone else any good does it?

The "True Christians(TM)" card is another one that's not going to earn you any points here.

Fact is I've talked to Christians that were absolutely convinced of God's existence and personal relationship with Him... until they weren't. If you're asking me not to believe their testimony, then I have no more reason to believe yours either.

'doesn't do others any good' for someone who is closed to the gospel, it doesn't bring any good no. You just can't understand than this isn't just a belief or doing religious practices, we are talking about getting close to the creator of the universe who is good too.

'true christians tm' no... i'm just saying is very hard for someone who had an encounter with God to deny him later, nothing else.

One thing led to another and it was appropiate that i answered so, anyway this thread is itself 'derailed' from post #1 lol.
