I lost my job today. Finances are tough. My wife has a busted knee and my son just got out of the hospital. I need a new job, I had been four months out of work and lost my job after just a week due to a technicality.

Begin volunteer work. It costs nothing, they don't mind if you look for work while you are working, and if you are worthy, they give a good reference that lasts your career.
I did this this and got a certificate for 100 hours of service - after three 40 hour weeks. I also organised a huge brochure rack with company brochures including a company ....where I found my next job by contacting the interesting company in the brochure.
Pick a place to volunteer with people flow, and you can network with CEO's and ask for a job....while doing a good job as a volunteer.

Moses I'm sorry that you lost your job. I sincerely lift you up to the LORD and ask that he will hear your (and my) prayer for you to get a job. "But for you O LORD, do I wait, it is You O LORD My God, who will answer." Psalm 38:15
