That's NOT what I and the other poster were talking about. We were talking about did Trump order and investigation to see if Obama genuinely was born in America.
Nope, this is exactly what the poster you quoted (and the poster he quoted) were talking about.
If you are talking about something else, I might advise you to go back and read what you were responding to.

Gee. It’s like the 2018 midterms never happened.
Or Donald's little group that tried to figure out a way to rationalize away the fact that Clinton got more votes. Not something a group would do if they were able to accept an election result.

If that were true, it's Schiff, Pelosi, Schumer, et al who would have been the ones to move on. As we all can see, they haven't.
Given they're operating under a mandate from the 2018 election, I have no idea why you'd think they're stuck in 2016.

I think it is both telling and damning that so many Trump defenders use this "but the 2016 election" arguement at all.

A presidential election is not a free check. The president does not, as Trump repeatedly and falsly claimed, have "the power to do whatever he wants".
The president is still subject to control but the other governmental branches. He might not lose any votes if he shot someone on 5th Avenue... but he still could be convicted of murder.
in the same way, Congress has the right - and duty - to take oversight on the president's activities and act accordingly.

Don't be silly, for Trump the presidency means he's king, obey him subjects! All hail King Benedict Arnold 1st!

The word that best describes this is "projection". :swoon:
Exactly! Democrats for the past three years now have been saying that Hillary won the 2016 election because of the popular vote. Al Gore made the same claim in 2000.

Hillary only recently has been willing to admit that it's necessary to win the electoral college vote.

Not while he was still in office, according to the current DOJ rules. I don't know al the whys and wherefores, but it seems to violate the precedence set by the indictment of VP Aaron Burr for the murder of Alexander Hamilton. It could be a case of the difference if diffidence between the Fed prosecutors and State prosecutors.

I'm curious where you are seeing that? I typically only see it mentioned when Republicans claim Democrats should quit opposing what the President wants, since a majority of Americans elected him. In essence, it is used to remind Republicans that most Americans did not want Trump or his policies, most wanted Hillary -- they aren't trying to claim Trump did not win or is not President.

None of them have claimed his election was not legitimate just that his actions since were unconstitutional.
I didn't say that they had. I said that they hadn't moved on. And that's because many of those people's followers and co-workers HAVE claimed that the president is illegitimate, which is fine with these party leaders.

If I had a dime for everytime I've heard that it would greatly supplement my retirement income, I could then go buy a house on "The Riviera"

Well they are correct in saying a majority of states voted for him instead of saying he won the nationwide "popularity contest".

The Babylon Bee is a humor site, but Kentucky gubernatorial loser Bevins is raising Cain since he lost to Beshears.

He wasn't that great of a candidate and (the GOP should have recognized this and ran someone else) it was an off year election where his opponent had the advantage of "family recognition". But in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter Beshears won't be able to get much if any of his legislation passed anyway.

I recommend getting your hearing checked, because what NHE claims is said isn't what is actually said.

People do point out that Hillary won the popular vote, but they don't claim that "Hillary won the election".

Then my memory must be going to pot too considering I remember all of those threads that were started saying we had to get rid of the electoral college so Hilliary could claim her rightful place on the presidential throne because she had won the "mob rule" vote

Obviously your memory is going. Nobody believes that eliminating the Electoral College would reverse the results of any previous election.
