And 16.1 million voted against
And 12.9 million didn't vote at all

By my maths that's of the order 37% of the electorate

Choosing to not vote IS voting. It's a vote for "We are okay with whatever the people who actually voted decide." Thus, add the "didn't vote at all" to whatever won the particular vote. They chose to side with whatever the outcome happened to be, because they did not care enough to vote at all.

Apathy is still a vote.

Done is done.

If 12.9 million did not vote.
surely it was not because they did not have the chance.

In a democracy the individual has power,
it is to be able to vote, each have a vote.

Why do politicians fall over themselves to get your vote.
Promising heaven on earth, just give them your vote.

Once you have given your vote you have given
away the power you once had.

If you vote for a person or party only on one issue it helps not,
you cannot give away a quarter or half a vote.

It is all or nothing.

That is not correct exactly,
It was three and a half years ago,

you would think that the number would be less today, but no there is even more determination to leave,

even after all the scare stories.

Moreover, many have not wanted to be members of the EU, for about forty years,

but, now when given the oppotunity to leave, they take it.

There is a lot of passion in the Leavers about this and so they make a lot of noise. But actually the latest polls and indeed the European election result indicate a majority for remain.

Not if the revocation comes from the democratically elected government. The government is under no obligation to base their actions on a non-binding referendum.

Exactly. This is a problem for the Conservatives, not the Labour Party. The Referendum was offered so certain conservative politicians could pander to their xenophobic base in exchange for more support.

Conservatives in Britain have really become a party that's run out of big ideas, and now must pander to peoples basest instincts.

The Tories won the election. Pro Leave parties only secured a minority of votes in this election but because Remainers were unable to unite against BREXIT BREXIT will happen 31st January with the protracted trade negotiations to follow

Still convinced that the majority of the country want to Remain in the EU?

The majority voted for parties that wanted a referendum on this so yes. Only 48% voted for the Tories and BREXIT party. But the dynamics of the British political system means that this issue is now settled. To be honest it is a relief that we can now move on from the issue even if the outcome was not what I wanted.

There's no wonder you Remainers have been in such a mess over the last 3 years. Believing there was support for another referendum has to be the political equivalent of believing in unicorns.

But yes, its a relief.
Now we can prove the country will survive and thrive without the restrictive chains of the EU.

Its just a shame that the extreme left are continuing to act like Fascists in London, immediately rejecting democracy.

This is the difference between the realities of a first past the post system and the actual stats. A majority supported a referendum but these voters were split between multiple parties while Boris united the BREXIT vote. The Political result is an overwhelming endorsement for leaving the EU even though this does not appear to be what the majority of people actually want.

But yes, its a relief.

On this we agree.

Now we can prove the country will survive and thrive without the restrictive chains of the EU.

Britain will work its own destiny out outside Team Europe but it forgets that inside Europe it became the equal of the Germans and French having lagged so far behind previously.

Its just a shame that the extreme left are continuing to act like Fascists in London, immediately rejecting democracy.

The more deluded they remain the less likely they are to ever win power again. So maybe Corbynism is not all bad if it keeps the left out of power for another generation.

And so this is how it ends...

What an embarrassment. Pathetic little money grubber laughing at people who have actually done something useful in life. What a pathetic spectacle.

It's 2020 and we're waving pieces of paper as if they mean something. Humanity is hopeless.

Thank God for Nigel Farage, a man of integrity who has fought for our freedom for decades.

Thank God Britain has finally escaped that evil institution. My ongoing prayer will be that the anti democratic EU Fascist empire collapses very soon.

Amen.
The Lord called me to intercession for the country to get out of the EU back in the mid 90s. It has been a long spiritual battle, but thank God, we are now on the home straight. However we must keep watching and praying, as recent history shows, there are many treacherous people who would do anything to rob this country of what the people decided back in 2016.
