The first is a bad argument. The 2nd (as far as the video is concerned) is a strawman and so not even a bad argument.
It would be a bad argument if that was the argument being made, but it is not.
But that's what you said he was trying to argue, remember:
He is trying to argue that there is a lot of good in men that should be honored.
What am I supposed to conclude from that statistic now?
The use of shame has never been a succesful policy for improving anything.

The deterrent is absolutely minimal because damaged and broken people don't really care about a negative consequence, after all what can be worse than the crap they already suffer?

All shame does is punishes the offender, and when used indiscrimantly against a group of people it unfairly punishes innocent parties and causes division and conflict.
Only damaged and broken people do bad stuff? Why are you guys criticizing Gilette then? We shouldn't criticize anyone's behavior, even when it's bad.

It is sad.
It is sad that so many self-styled "men" are such fragile little crybabies. Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo, what a mean commercial! Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo! People say "toxic masculinity" and that hurts my feeeeeeeeewings! Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo, I'm such a victim as a man!

Man up, buttercups. The world never owed me a thing, not even being nice to me. People want to say mean things because I'm a man? I don't care, I'm a grown man. It's a man's place to take what the world heaps on him, shrug it off, laugh a little at it. Let the sissies and snowflakes wallow in victimhood. Some dogmatic feminists want to yap at me? I laugh at them. It's not hard.

There are a lot of valid topics out there regarding persecution and discrimination. And for quite a while now, standing up against that has been seen as a honorable position.

But that has also lead to all kinds of people crying "Help, help, I am persecuted!", while they are just trying to cash in on the potential support.

If your response to a general "don't be a jerk" is "you are calling me a jerk?", then the chance is very high that you are a jerk, and not injustly persecuted.
