But God already has it all figured out. And He is probably just waiting for you to calm down a little and let Him show you what He’s got for you.
Exactly, totally, and completely right.

Falling into despair is a path to sin. Trust God.

Rejoice that you are alive and still able to feel joy, sadness, that you can laugh and cry, and that you can experience the world. The dead can't do any of this. There is no such thing as a day to be anxious about with Trust in God. None at all.

Read this and try to believe it. This passage saved my life ...

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:37-39, NRSV)

I don't have a lot of inner peace which comes by confiding confidently in God and his will.

This may be. I don't know your situation. You should consider why you are out of your comfort zone. What is it that brought you there may be exactly what you need to figure out.

Doing this and not panicking is the trust part. In my experience this is humbling, difficult and is not easy to figure out. It is certainly do-able though.

God made good people out of murderers (Moses, David, Paul) and social outcasts (Matthew the tax collector), deniers of God (Peter). If 'those people' can be held up as paragons as practitioners in faith that we all should emulate, there is not much that God can't do with you.

When God said follow me (Matthew 4:19), they did it. Let it happen, whatever it is. If you trust in God, you will grow spiritually.

A few people have suggested that you pray. Do that.

It may be that the other path would have led to spiritual pride and self sustainment and self satisfaction. Good question

Exactly. Pray and ask for His will to be done, not yours. Trusting in Him is not easy. Pride keeps us from this.

I'm perplexed with what to do with myself and my life. It's like I'm in darkness. Children of the light probably dont experience this state that I'm in.
Jesus is the light that shone in the darkness of this world. If you have Jesus then you are in that light.

Isaiah 9:2
The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them.

Daniel 10:6
His body also was like beryl, his face had the appearance of lightning, his eyes were like flaming torches, his arms and feet like the gleam of polished bronze, and the sound of his words like the sound of a tumult.

Matthew 28:3
And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.

John 8:12
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

Acts 9:3
As he was traveling, it happened that he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him; (Paul witnessed the resurrected Jesus)

Thanks HardHead. Your posts reminded me of Psalms 37:8
Any time.

Stand firm and know who your allies are. There is nothing to fear when you are under the care of God. Read Ephesians 6:10-18 to see what I mean. The helmet is about protecting your thoughts.

Consider also that the same Holy Spirit that was there at the creation of the universe is standing with you (Genesis 1:2). Those mighty allies can do anything. See Psalms 104 and Psalms 139 for this.

All the best to you.

Seriously have no idea what to do. I messed up Gods plan for my life and I feel there's no way back. Help?

Remember that God uses all things for those who love him. Even if you messed up like I did rely on him and he will grow you and use that experience and the place you are in for even greater good. Don't think in all or nothing black and white like satan wants you to. You are never a failure in Christ. Now get up and and trust in him to be able to have him use you in more ways then you could have even imagined.

I totally get where you are coming from. I am here for you and by no means have the answers. I believe that tomorrow may be a better day for you. Some days are just dark awful and painful. In any event I am happy to here what you have to say. Nothing you share would shock me. We are all sinners and saved by grace. Love and hugs to you .

I can totally agree in an intellectual sense with what you've written. Thank you
God wrote the book of our life before we were conceived. He gives us all of our gifts talents and abilities. He gives his angels charge over us to help us to be the person He created us to be. Then the enemy comes along that wants to lie, cheat, steal and destroy. So there is a battle for truth. We need to abide in the truth and not the lies and deception of the enemy.

We do our best to walk in the light. When we fail, we confess those faliures or sins to God. Our help comes from God and He doesn't fail. He helps us get back up!

Psalm 51:2
Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Hebrews 9:14
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Satan is the accuser and sometimes he uses people to do the verbal accusations.

How can you possibly know God's plan for your life? The fact is you can't mess up God's plan. You might mess up his command, but he planned for things to proceed exactly as they are. You are precisely where he intended all along, and that is for his purposes more than for your own good. Just so happens it is also for your own good, because of his love and mercy. Thank him, and proceed to follow where he leads you.

You are not even your own judge, nor is it your job to know all your steps.

I know it may sound high-minded of me to claim such. God's thoughts are far higher than mine, after all. But all the revelation I've received lately about that other path I messed up is what's making me feel this way.

I sure pray you're right. I would gladly take up my suffering now with courage if I could see what God sees for me. But right now all I can see is despair and failure.

You are not even your own judge, nor is it your job to know all your steps.

Right but it is still good practice to judge ourselves.

You don't need to condemn yourself. You examine yourself and with God's help you change what you realize you should change.

2 Chronicles 15
The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. 3 For a long time Israel has been without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law; 4 but when in their trouble they turned to the Lord God of Israel, and sought Him, He was found by them.

Went through / still going through something similar, this verse helping me. Basically its saying Israel turns to God when they are in trouble (How much are some of us like that, that we need to go through trouble / problems / darkness such as yours before we will cry out to God for help and turn back to him)

And when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of [c]Oded the prophet, he took courage, and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had taken in the mountains of Ephraim; and he restored the altar of the Lord that was before the vestibule of the Lord.

What did asta do? He removed all the idols, restored the alter and sought God with his heart. Im not saying that you have idols to remove, however your body is the temple of God and we should work towards being holy / restoring it and walking in his ways.

Seek God with your heart, seek to follow him and he will pull you back into the light, he will help you every step of the way.
