'Coup has started,' whistleblower's attorney said in 2017 posts calling for impeachment

Mark Zaid, one of the attorneys representing the whistleblower at the center of the Democrats' ongoing impeachment inquiry, tweeted conspicuously in January 2017 that a "coup has started" and that "impeachment will follow ultimately."

Then, in July 2017, Zaid remarked, "I predict @CNN will play a key role in @realDonaldTrump not finishing out his full term as president." Also that month, Zaid tweeted, "We will get rid of him, and this country is strong enough to survive even him and his supporters."

Proves once again that the deep state was out to take Trump down before he even got started.

Now that's not playing too nice.
To be expected from that side.

Lmbo. It's not a coup. I realize Donald doesn't understand the concept, but he's being held accountable for his actions. Glad that at least Bob spelled coup correctly!

You do understand that it’s very silly to describe using the constitutional mechanism for removing a leader (which would also require a large number of his own senators to believe the evidence against him and vote accordingly) as a ‘coup’ right?

Well, that makes no sense, of course; but the coup strategizers have already revealed their planning by stating in public that once Trump is gone, they will then turn to impeaching Pence.

The idea that anyone is seriously trying to impeach both Trump and Pence at the same time (I’m not even sure that’s a thing) is laughable...

That would be a feat, I agree.

However, I haven't heard of that strategy being contemplated and I doubt that anyone else has either.

He couldn't just appoint. He would nominate one, of course, but that person would have to be confirmed by a majority vote of both the House and Senate; and in this era where almost no Democrat ever breaks ranks, they could prevent that nominee from being confirmed.
