welcome to CF. As my name implies I, too am a dog person.
What dogs do you have? Boaz is #30 of all the dogs i have had. Mostly I had multiple dogs at the same time. Many different breeds and mixed but mostly large breeds.

We currently have a mixed breed outside dog ( I live with my mother) and my sister ( who lives in an apartment about thirty minutes away has a terrier mix that is inside and so when she is over so is he.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes Boaz is wonderful. They are not a new breed but are uncommon in the US. I hear there is one, maybe more that work at the White House in security. They are used in police and military work, so he has a fierce natural prey drive and is protective but not vicious or dangerous. Wouldn't advise anyone to so much as tell at me. ^_^ I am a lover of all animals too.

Hello and welcome to CF. :)

Boaz looks like he's beautiful - would love to see a picture of all of him. I'm a dog and a cat person. German Shepherds are the breed of my heart. But I haven't had one in several years. My last pup was outstanding in temperament and beauty, but had a pancreatic disease (which is becoming too common in the breed) and almost died (of starvation, while eating large amounts of food), cost huge amounts to treat, and then lost his personality due to complications. It was years of heartbreak and I'm not ready for that again. I've considered a less popular breed - popularity in the US sometimes ruins dogs.

But right now my hands are very full with training a young Maine Coon mix (kitten) that might have some exotic inclusion ... she's like a cross between a dog and a wildcat lol. Much more than I bargained for.

I hope you enjoy CF. There are all sorts of different areas, and plenty of places for "lively debate". I hope you enjoy being part of our community! :)

Thanks for the kind words about Boaz. I'll try to figure out how to get photos in my phone into my laptop. It will be easier to post from there.
The Dutch Shepherd is a good breed of your looking for that type of breed that hasn't been ruined by careless breeding or , AKC interference. So far the Dutchie enthusiasts are careful to keep the working qualities in them. When you are ready of course. Boaz is truly remarkable. I only regret he is missing out on police work, tracking etc because he would love it. Take look at some utube videos on Dutch Shepherds in training. They are unbelievble!

Thanks, I will have to look at them. Though I'm not sure I'm able to give working dogs what they need like I could 10 or 30 years ago. It's hard for me to consider yap-yap breeds as dogs though. :D
