It was the 'normalization' of "no fault" divorce (adultery) and premarital sex which opened the door for the 'normalization' of homosexuality in Western society.
Those were parts of it. So too was contraception, which allowed for 'free' sex. And the technology that made inappropriate contentography common and then ubiquitous.

Here is a bit of hope in an otherwise sad story: How Revolutions End | Dan Hitchens

Traditional Catholics, I guess is now defined as those who actually follow the teachings of the Catholic church, will become isolated as Jorge Mario Bergoglio will not come to the rescue. He is endearing many of the cardinals and bishops John Paul II kept at arms length. Wonder if the SSPX ranks increase.
Since we are guessing, my guess is that your assessment of how this will develop is probably going to be proven correct so far as traditional Catholics becoming isolated goes...but I doubt that a very large percentage of loyal Catholics will actually bolt, for SSPX or anything else. They are the ones who believe most strongly in that "one true church" mythology that has such a hold on Roman Catholics.

I should add, though, that RC statistics have become misleading because the people departing the church are offset by recent immigrants, making the basic situation, membership statistics-wise, look fairly stable when it is not.

They are, as are FSSP. People vote with their feet and the happy clappy sin endorsing parishes lose out. Which is as it should be. Actually it should be that bishops shut down those parishes or replace the priest with a faithful one.

In several ways, the advent of happy-clappy Masses cannot hold a candle to LGBT Masses, though.

(Did you notice how I worked some churchy words into that sentence? ;))

With the support of bishops no less.
Some bishops. Many are quietly dug in against this junk. And a few are vocally opposed to this junk. Like cardinal Mueller.

Here's an interesting article about pope Francis stacking the deck among the cardinals to elect another pope of similar bent: How Revolutions End | Dan Hitchens

It's all pretty much the same. Devolution.

Devolution they may both be, but the two are quite different so far as the impact upon traditional Catholics goes, I'm thinking.

Happy-clappy can be tolerated by such people and one way of adjusting is just to switch parishes. Happy-clappy is not a matter of condoning sin. It's just irreverent or something along those lines.

But when we turn to LGBT Masses--not just acceptance of gay members--and these events being promoted from on high, with all the fanfare that was referred to earlier...
.
...that is a much more offensive thing in principle and in the way it will be received by the people who are not of that subgroup.

LGBT ‘Pride’ Masses taking over multiple Catholic dioceses in England

ENGLAND, November 4, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – The Catholic diocese of Salford in north-west England has become the latest of multiple Catholic dioceses around the United Kingdom to begin hosting “LGBT+ Masses.” In Salford, as in the other dioceses, the LGBT+ Masses enjoy the support of their respective local bishops.

Advertisements for the Masses have become widely available in churches and on various official parish and diocesan websites. Many of these advertisements are emblazoned with the rainbow flag or popular Catholic images such as crosses or the Sacred Heart filled with the rainbow colours. Several of the groups involved in organizing these Masses take part in their local homosexual “pride” events.

In none of the advertisements or official publications about these Masses is the Catholic Church’s authoritative, constant teaching that homosexual sexual acts are inherently sinfulmade clear.

Playing a key role in the promotion and support of many of these Masses is the group “Quest.” Quest states on its website that it desires to see the “acceptance of homosexual relationships by the Catholic Church” and that its purpose is to help homosexuals reconcile their Catholic faith with the "full expression of their homosexual natures.” At their annual conference in 2018, Quest organizers showed a specially pre-recorded video presentation by the pro-homosexual celebrity priest Fr. James Martin.

This increase in LGBT+ Masses around the country has been welcomed by LGBT+ Catholics Westminster. This group has enjoyed the long-term support of Cardinal Vincent Nichols, who is both their local ordinary and the senior Catholic cleric in England. In March of this year, the group were given privileged seats at a papal audience in St Peter’s Square, Rome, after which they were invited to meet and take photographs with Pope Francis. They were introduced to Pope Francis by Martin Pendergrast, an ex-priest who has been in a civil union with Julian Filochowski, the former head of Cafod, since 2006.

We see such horrible things happening all over the place in our modern world . At least these things make it easier for those who actually believe the holy scriptures to discern between those who don’t and between the evil and the good.

So, the pastor at my church brought this up on Sunday. The message was about “being in the world but not OF the world”. And he brought up the story of David not willing to worship king Nebukkednazzar’s (sp?) giant golden statue instead of God... then he says “and what “statue” is the world worshipping today? The LGBT “statue”!” *makes a gesture like a tower is getting built up from the floor*

Hit the nail on the head.

Hit the nail on the head.
That is a nail that needs hitting squarely on the head. We have just one God. Other claimants should be shown the door.

To the contrary, what you’re comparing isn’t parallel. Inviting divorcees to church is not parallel to a “Pride Mass,” the latter occurring for the purpose of not only being designated specifically for LGBTQ people, others may and do attend, but also as an encouragement of LGBTQ. Inviting divorcees to church has none of those parallels.

next thing you know they will be welcoming divorced people. When will this madness end?
Divorced people are not necessarily adulterers. There is a difference between someone who sins and repents. Jesus forgave His murderers and the adulteress. Note that He told her to go and sin no more. But the homosexual community would have you believe that their lifestyle is not sin. That is not what God says.

With the first post-modern Pope in Francis who supports this, I see a crisis within the Catholic Church within months.
this must be targeting a demographic of existing baptized Catholics who now identify as a homosexual and I assume since they are invited to mass they may receive Holy Communion

Really ??! Can you not see the vast differences ? Not to mention the fact that scripture is very clear of which divorces are acceptable to God, and those that are not.

I have been wondering the same question recently, as I have read so many negative comments about Pope Francis on the Catholic sub-forum. Perhaps the ranks of the SSPX will begin to grow?

It would be a logical home.

Does that possibly mean the end is closer?
Sure not helping things.
