Right on! Like the MSM lied and twisted Trump's claim about "I started with a small loan of $1 million" into some sort of lie, simply because he was given over $400 million from his father, and not just some "small $1 million loan" like he claims".

Oh, wait, that would make Trump a liar(which, of course, he is), not the MSM. I guess I need to find another example.

How do you know that those weren't two separate events? His father may have given him money of different amounts at different times for different reasons. Why assume that his father gave him a loan of a certain amount, and that's the only time that counts for every discussion?

Funny that you should mention taking that statement literally because Trump's lawyer last Wed, said something like that in his argument in the NY court where he is fighting against handing over his tax returns.
It's also funny that literally every news site for three google pages worth are reporting this story but not Fox.

Judges from a three-member panel of the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals in downtown Manhattan challenged Trump's private attorney on key elements of his argument, primarily that the President enjoys absolute immunity from all criminal investigations while in office.

Asked by federal Judge Denny Chin about the limits of presidential immunity, and "the Fifth Avenue example," Trump attorney William Consovoy argued that local authorities in New York City could not prosecute the sitting president even if he shot someone in the street.
https://www-m.cnn.com/2019/10/23/politics/trump-tax-return-appeal/index.html?r=https://www.google.com/

Trump couldn't be prosecuted if he shot someone on Fifth Avenue, lawyer claims

You're taking the discussion in a different direction. Trump stated that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose any voters. He did not say he could do it and not be prosecuted for it.

LOL So what if there are only three ellipses? You don't know how many words, phrases, or sentences are omitted by any of them. One reason for my early conclusion is they are all in a "The President" paragraph (which means you can't blame it on people not knowing Russian or anything Zelensky said).

Thanks for the link.

If you read what's in that link, you'll see that one the reasons for the ellipses is because Trump often speaks in partial sentences. He does that a lot. They are also used when something was said that wasn't understood.

If you take it figuratively it should still be an insult: "My base is so stupid that they would follow me even if I committed a crime in front of tens of thousands of witnesses. I can do no wrong in their eyes."

You don't see that? What would you do if Obama said what Trump said?

Because you are being purposefully ignorant. You aren't stupid - I know that. You are choosing to ignore what is going on. That is why I usually don't even respond to you, because I know you know what you are doing. I am not sure if you are paid to do this, or if you actually believe what you are saying on these forums. I hope you are getting paid either way, because you are devout.

I'm not being paid anything. I mean, I make sure I face in the direction of Trump Tower when I pray, and I read daily devotionals each morning from The Art of the Deal, and I binge-watch The Apprentice, but what red-blooded American wouldn't do at least that? I mean, come on!

Yup, I just thought it was interesting for others to know the games Trump and his attorney are willing to play.

How would you describe people who would watch a person shoot someone and still want him/her as president?

Should I have said "the reasonable and rational crowd who would watch him shoot somebody and still think he would make a good president?"

Did Trump shoot anyone? Did anyone stand by and watch it happen and then vote for the shooter?
No, you're just making things up.
Therefore, there's no reason for me to describe anyone who would do that.

I'm guessing he meant the majority want impeachment hearings. At the same time, the most recent polls seem to show 49% of Americans want Trump impeached and removed from office -- and this NBC/WSJ news poll matches the Fox news poll from last week.

Yet the majority of people who come here and want him impeached will repeat the often-quoted mantra that an overwhelming majority want Trump impeached and removed from office. People seem to like repeating things they like to hear.

If you claim you're a self-made man who started with "a small loan of $1 million from your father" (he made that claim during his candidacy), and the reality (which has been shown) is that you actually got $400+ million from your father, then the claim of being self-made is shown to be a total sham.

Even if his father gave him a loan of $1 million at some point, and was subsequently given the rest, claiming you're self made because "i started with a small loan of $1 million from your father" is still a total lie. Moreover, he got $50K from his father at age 2, and over the years, that amount grew and grew.

There's no shame in inheriting money from your father. There's nothing wrong with a father passing on his wealth to his child. There's plenty of shame about lying about being self made when your father gave you over $400 million.

Right now, I'm seeing games being played by Trump's opponents and their followers. Claiming that Trump said he wouldn't get in trouble for shooting someone when it's clearly in black & white what he actually said is playing a very dishonest game. However, a lie does not become the truth no matter how many times it's repeated.

As I said, I'm watching him gaslight you all down there. Some are falling for it with great eagerness. Some call him on it

Maybe he did start with a $1 million loan. Just because he got more later on doesn't mean he wasn't successful with what he started with. Has he ever stated what the rest was for? It doesn't necessarily mean that he needed it in order to not fail at whatever he was doing.

And some will call out the lies that are being told about him. It's ok if people would rather hear anti-Trump propaganda. They have their minds made up to vote for Biden/Warren/Sanders or whichever democrat survives the race for another year, and clearly feel insecure that their candidate will win and continue to spread whatever they hear on the news even after they've been shown the truth.

Actually I'm thinking about voting for Weld. I wrote in Rand Paul last time.

If pointing out the lies of the anti-Trump crowd proves your point, then it might be best to rest on a different point.

Again, if the call transcript exonerates Trump, why doesn't he release the full unedited transcript? Why was it moved to a secret server? Why does he keep using thuggish mob tactics to prevent folks with firsthand knowledge of the call from testifying about it?

It's not a never-Trumper or Trumper matter, it's simply looking at the facts and thinking with some logic.

You mean the part where Ukraine who were waiting for the US aid to buy Javelins remind Trump about said Javelins only to be met with Trump’s demand for a ‘favor’ first.
You mean the part where the Ukrainian president thanked Donald for the Javelins they already received and mentioned that they would like to have more? Second, there was absolutely no "demand". The president of Ukraine even stated that he felt absolutely no pressure from Trump. Like most liberals, you are reading the transcript, and everything else Trump says and does, with a lens of hatred and desperation. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE TRANSCRIPT THAT WARRANTS IMPEACHMENT! THE PRESIDENT WILL NOT BE IMPEACHED! At least with the current evidence and the Democrats know this. That is why they are having secret hearings to find anything useful....because they don't have anything yet. I know you disagree. Why? Because the Democrats and the liberal media keep telling you lies about some "bombshell evidence" that is about to nail Trump to the wall. Yet, surprisingly all the "bombshells" turn into duds and they are never heard from again.

So here is yet another one of my "mark my words" predictions. I predict that impeachment never passes Congress because there will be a bipartisan vote against it in both the house and the Senate. If I am wrong, I will make one last post in the politics section of to concede my being wrong and never post here again.
