Your language, regardless of you not being "rich" or not having "a big fat 401K", indicates a lack of personal understanding of being poor and on the rocks. I am glad you are "not opposed to the Government helping people to get by for a reasonable period of time." Silverback, I do hope you "understand very well the living wage and healthcare issues. And there are many people who are disabled and cannot work...and they should be taken care of."

The school lunch program is here to stay. And so is SNAP.

What do you consider "reasonable" time periods?

Well, 180 days, extendable at 90 incriments, up to one year. Depending on the state unemployment rate, it could go on longer, I know that during the "Great Recession" there were "99 weekers" still on public benefits, and it was necessary .

Do what you want. I prefer We the People use our government to improve the lives of all of us, singular and jointly. Unregulated market forces will further decrease the working class and increase the poor classes. I am not willingly accepting the idea that kids should go hungry.

They don't have to go hungry, Mom and Dad should feed them.

Do you really think every kid has a good mom and dad with enough money to feed healthy food to them?

yeah, don't you know mom and dad should be out working 5 jobs a day to pay for rent and food, sleep is for those who are lucky enough to get the few jobs that pay living wages.

Keep in mind I never said anything about the SLP. I was talking about health insurance, which everybody knows is the biggest problem in America except those who don't know what it is.

But since you asked, nobody can convince me every parent is financially able to feed every child healthy food. If you can't understand this simple fact, you never once considered what it is like to be a "have-not." What Mom and Dad should do is WHATEVER THEY ARE ABLE TO DO to feed all their children healthy food. Do you know a single thing about families in poverty? The inability of people to get living wage jobs? The horrible conditions black people live in? Disabilites that make going to work impossible?

hehe :> I think we miss read each other, I for some reason read, do you think everyone has good moms with money as, "Do you think everyone has good moms." implying it's not money but bad parents that cause kids to starve :>

my apologies think we actually agree.

Ok, we can keep the SLP. I was looking at the proposal to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour, it's not enough...it would need to be $22 - $24 per hour if people need to put 10% of their income in a 401K.

If President Trump prevails in a Senate trial, it will backfire on the democrats. Once people realize we paid them for the last three years, and they did nothing but investigate the President, and in the end removing him from office was a failure as well.
Wait, how long do you think the Democrats have had a House majority? Not three years, but only since January of this year. Any investigations before this were done under Republican authority.

I will wait until the Senate is blue to tackle the minimum wage issue because Republicans will shoot down anything Democrats propose. But FYI not all employers offer a 401(k) benefit and only full-timers can get it, so that 10% is likely to be kept in a worker's bank account.

That may be considered a slip-up in the Constitution's wording, but I assume that the founders expected that the House of Representatives (!) would never consider running a kangaroo court.

Hey, I predicted the exact phrase "kangaroo court" as part of the next attempted distraction once the GOP got what they wanted from a House resolution on impeachment. What do I win?

Sure, it would. However, with three years under their belts and non-stop efforts to find some crime, the chances do not look good
I'm sure Donald's personal attorney would come up with some of the same defenses for Donald, were he not sitting in prison due to some of these crimes found during the past 3 years.
