I have chosen chapter 12 because it is the 12th of the month and this verse is from my son's living Bible that we gave him in 1977.
Proverbs 12:14
Telling the truth gives a man great satisfaction, and hard work returns many blessings to him.

the living Bible says

12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick; but when dreams come true at last, there is life and joy. :)

Proverbs 15:14
The Living Bible
A wise man is hungry for truth, while the mocker feeds on trash.

It is so important to feed our minds with wholesome things, music we listen to, books we read, people we talk to...

This one really spoke to me, when I was younger and full of energy and enthusiasm,
I would think of an idea and rush along...

Just looking at that verse, too. Instead of having the fear of the Lord, King Saul developed the fear of man.

It's shown "...And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, ..." and "...I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice." I Sam 13 and 15.

Even when Samuel plainly told him why God was rejecting him, "Saul said, I have sinned; yet honor me now, I pray you, before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the Lord your God."

Wonder why he said your God instead of our God. Did he had the fear of the Lord when God selected him to be king? Or was he a tall, good looking, shy guy just what the people wanted for a king? He contrasted with their next king, David, who had the fear of the Lord. Think it's obvious he did because David was a man after God's own heart. But some folks want to see it in those words before they'll began to consider it.

When I first became a Christian, many years ago, this verse from Proverbs 3:6 Living Bible meant so much to me.
"In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you, and crown your efforts with success".

Wonder why he said your God instead of our God.
Well yes, in vain he tried to reason it all away over that which was still disobedience. Finally, it sinks in, ,

Behold, obedience is better than sacrifice,
and attentiveness is better than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is like the sin of divination,
and arrogance is like the wickedness of idolatry.
