Heads Up ... Our eternal destination depends on what we practice!

“Not everyone who says to Me,
‘Lord, Lord’,
shall enter the kingdom of heaven,
but he who
does the will of My Father in heaven.
Many will say to Me in that day,
‘Lord, Lord, have we
not prophesied in Your name,
cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
And
then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me,
you who practice lawlessness!’ ” (Matthew 7:21-23)

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication,
uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies,
outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders,
drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand,
just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things
will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Galatians 5:19-21)

“Little children, let no one deceive you.
He who practices righteousness is righteous,
just as He is righteous … In this the children of God
and the children of the devil are manifest:
Whoever does not practice righteousness is NOT of God,
nor is he who does not love his brothers/sisters.” (1 John 3:7-10)

“Then they (the unrighteous) also will answer Him, saying,
‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick
or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying,
‘Assuredly, I say to you,
inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these,
you did not do it to Me.’ And
these will go away into everlasting punishment,
but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matthew 25:44-46)

The big difference between legalistic righteousness and imputed righteousness is the difference between attempting salvation by works VS salvation by grace.

Here's how it works. Jesus paid for all of my sins, past, present, and future. And just as in America you cannot be punished twice for the same crime, as a Christian, I cannot be punished, only chastised for any sin no matter how serious.

But, in view of that, God gave me a brand new nature that loves him and hates sin. So even if free to sin, It repulses me and I love the fullness of the Spirit that comes from holiness more than anything else.

Your problem remains thusly (and hopefully not forever) ...
the NT is absolutely filled with verses which encourage us and warn us
to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, etc. etc. etc.

These verses surely come across as salvation by works as well as by grace.
Our salvation is a co-operative effort between God and us.

It appears that you are in today's very popular camp of
grace-only, cheap-grace, hyper-grace, easy-believism, etc.

And this is one reason why God has been saying that
the church is FAST ASLEEP and needs to WAKE UP.

Only the saved will do this. The rest will wash out.

Yes, of course ... that should be obvious to everyone who is born-again.

Correct.

Matthew 7:12
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Luke 6:31
And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

Matthew 7:1-29
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

Philippians 2
3 Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. ...

Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Acts 20
35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Here's an analogy about salvation by grace or works. Let's say only dogs are saved. Cats are not. So God performs a miracle on a few cats he arbitrarily chose to redeem and save, turning them into dogs. So they from then on act like dogs because ----- they are dogs.

But the cats heard you must change yourself into a dog. So they go about hiking their legs on fire-hydrants. Sniffing places where they embarrass people. Chasing cars is a biggie. And eating garbage....

But in the end they perish only acting like dogs without God miraculously turning them into dogs.

Yes, that's why I'm here ... to warn "believers" to beware of being
deceived into thinking they're A-OK ... when they may NOT be.

The point is, the born again will used the warnings for a checklist to confirm their faith. The rest will only use them in an effort to save themselves.
