To all for whom this day is sacred, I hope you had a blessed day!

I included prayers for "those we love but see no longer" in the Noonday Prayers that I lead on my campus. In the evening, there was candy for trick-or-treaters. I rest easy in the knowledge that my neighborhood is protected by Spider-Man and Supergirl.

How did you observe the day?

I took a vacation day and slept in. When my daughter finished school we went trick or treating in town since the rain held up, and there were about two dozen black vultures in the skies the whole time. We got some pizza for dinner then went trick or treating some more.

Just relaxing a bit for now until the witching hour when I'll have a little ritual, drink some mead, and go to sleep.

Thank you for your consideration @PloverWing!

Today I worked while watching the snow come down hard here. I'm not sure if it's ever snowed this much, this early in my lifetime! We had a retirement party for a coworker today so I got a nice lunch and a good couple of hours of conversation.

This is my first Samhain in my new house and my wife and I gave out candy to the admittedly meager stream of kids slowed down by bad weather. My favorite costumes were a Charmander, Demogorgon and a character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

My wife and I have been watching Harry Potter movies while handing out candy. The first one especially is sort of a Halloween tradition for us. As we unwind from that, I'll soon begin a short bit meaningful ritual and reflect on those who have passed and the season of death, which arrived here in a big way via the major snow.

I'll conclude with an incense offering and libations of whiskey and honestly I might hit the hay pretty early, I'm beat from a week of late nights and poor sleep.

I think I had one of the most unusual October 31st that I ever had....... I listened to several episodes of a guy named Kevin Zadai in the morning......... and i really felt the Ruach ha Kodesh moving in a new way. (For the record I am open to the possibility of the Holy Spirit / The Comforter being also YHWh The Mother)????

Wave Theory and Gender: Why Sex
"Pulling and gravitation, which resemble basic feminine traits, are the dominant properties of the magnetic loop. Consequently, magnetic loops have a capacity for storing energy and act to maintain the structural integrity of the entire wave formation. The electronic/energetic loop consists of expanding properties that disperse energetic matter that “disappears” into space. This is synonymous with masculine characteristics." (Dr. Chaim Tejman)

Worked today but hanging out watching the football game and handing out candy to the kids now. Being Lutheran Reformation Day adds to make it special.

I spent much of my day at the zoo where I do work with wildlife rehabilitation, and then this evening there were bad storms coming through, so I just enjoyed doing very little and being in the here and now.

I spent a lazy day at home with my family and this evening I watched the 2 hour Ghost Adventures Halloween Special on the Travel Channel while I participated in a live tweet with a couple of the GAC and some other GA fans during the broadcast. I think that was a perfect ending to this Halloween.

We're having a series of beautiful fall days here with clear skies. It's down into the 20ies at night and warms up to the mid 50's. I love this kind of weather. I was fortunate to get home early to do my favorite thing which is work in the yard. We had only 30 or so trick-or-treaters, but some with really creative costumes. The kids are so much fun to watch, especially the really little ones. I was way prepared for more than we had and was a little disappointed at the low turn out.

After work I went home and handed out candy while sipping some scotch, setting up a data cloud host and watching the ball game. My wife took the kid out trick or treating.

Pondered it being Allhallowtide as that's what we are studying at the parish. Realized I don't really know many dead folk so didn't think too much about it though. I know for Catholics who have lost someone close it can be a very special time.

Hope everyone had a great Samhain!

I'm a little bit sad that I commute to work, since a couple of Catholics at the office were going full-out with Tridentine Latin mass for All Saints' Day in the city tonight, and I'd have liked to tag along, but alas. My ever-late commuter train had to take precedence. :(
