There is ethical capitalism and crony capitalism. Neither is socialism. Ethical capitalism has regulations to insure we protect the environment and value our workers. Crony capitalism is corrupt, respecting nothing but maximum profit. We need to end crony capitalism.

Capitalism is basically a system where the only way I can make money is if I first improve somebody else’s life. The more lives I improve, the more money I will make.

Neither system, in its pure form is good; because the net result will always be the most vulnerable being hurt because all power ultimately ends up in the hands of a few oligarchs.

Which is why a system that emphasizes economic justice and equity is necessary.

The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) today released its fourth Annual Report on US Attitudes Toward Socialism, Communism, and Collectivism.

“The historical amnesia about the dangers of communism and socialism is on full display in this year’s report," said Marion Smith, Executive Director of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation. "When we don’t educate our youngest generations about the historical truth of 100 million victims murdered at the hands of communist regimes over the past century, we shouldn’t be surprised at their willingness to embrace Marxist ideas. We need to redouble our efforts to educate America’s youth about the history of communist regimes and the dangers of socialism today.”

Or it could be that the loose and hyperbolic usage of 'socialism' to deride liberal policies has, in effect, succeeded. Socialism has become more popular, because these policies are popular.
like any system of government, they all work perfectly fine until they don't. there's nothing wrong with socialism... until there is.

I like your illustrations and much can be said about them. You have the person in the wheel chair who obviously needs help. Now what if you changed the picture and instead of a disabled person you had a lazy loafer (not disabled) sleeping on the grass. Is it expected that he have a platform built for him where he can lay down with his eyes seeing over the fence?

The belief that capitalism is IN ANY way a chrisitian system comes because the early explorers brought missionaries to convert. There is nothing inherently Christian about capitalism.
Not sure about that. But depends on what you mean by capitalism. If you've already baked into the definition that capitalism means ones is greedy I don't believe one can do that. Socialism looks to take from those who have to give to those who have not.

If we're talking about Christian aspects God's true desire is for a person to look to him as their provider as in the Lord is our Sheppard and we do not want.(Ps 23) A secular system looks to man as meeting their need and demands that he does. The Bible speaks that God will use men as in Lk 6:38 "....the Lord shall cause men to give unto you" but it's not something where men have been forced to by earthly overlords. (government)

What I see is a system that enslaves people with too many restrictions, and has no incentive for people to strive to better themselves. Socialism simply doesn't work.

It is not either one or the other but healthy mix.

It makes zero sense to put your health or penal system as capitalist system. You do not want those organizations to expand or make profit.

Also legally bribing politicians with lobbyists is sign of corruption - nothing more nothing less.

They will be blinded and freely give away the excellent thing that has been given to them and then later think to themselves -- what have I done?

We once had it so good.
Oh common man -- not again!

Nothing connects capitalism to consumer well being.

Have you read nothing about Sackler family for example , little thing called opioid crisis ?

The US opioid crisis in numbers

War profiteering ? Slave trade ? Soft drinks and junk food industry ?

All fine capitalistic ventures. Not so great at improving lives.

I'm not enslaved to such a system in my country where consumerism thrives yet we have free medical and social safety nets and pay less taxes. Better than being enslaved to insurance companies IMO.
No such thing as free medical. Someone is paying for it.

Jesus said he came to free the captives. I have seen how people under socialism and communism become slaves to the government.

This is a weak, brainwashed & entitled generation whose embrace of radical and rebuked ideologies in their perpetual petulance born of a lifetime of privileged comfort and coddling.

An excellent description of Boomers. ;)
