Use words if necessary? Always use words, because that's necessary.

No it's not, actions speak louder than words. I am seriously tried of people trying to tell me how to evangelize. I will do it my way and you do it yours and keep outa my business

Great question. One would want their life to be an example...around the people I see?.. always wanting to talk about Him.. there is nothing better. At times I don't think I do at all...need to always wittness. I am one of those that if it was day and night.. not enough

Jesus used words. The apostles used words. You cannot bring sinners to Christ if they have never heard of him, or know anything about him. I was saved by hearing people talk about Jesus, watching them live differently than me didn't change me.

Is this the kind of attitude you use to win souls? I'll leave you alone like you want.

It is the kind of attitude I have to people like you, who think they can tell everyone else what to do. God wins souls, I witness always using words if I must. I take my advice from my Priest and my Church not some dude on the internet

So, I ain't Jesus and please stop responding to me. I could not give a flying fig what you think

How about what God thinks?

Romans 10:13-15
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

It is the kind of attitude I have to people like you, who think they can tell everyone else what to do.

Are you not telling Jonaitis what to do? Yes, you are. How is doing so not hypocritical in light of your own words above?

God wins souls, I witness always using words if I must. I take my advice from my Priest and my Church not some dude on the internet

Aren't you just "some dude on the internet," too, telling folks how he evangelizes? Why would you bother to do so since a "dude on the internet" is all you are? I mean, if you don't listen to such people why should any of us pay attention to what you've written about how you evangelize? Shouldn't we follow your example and just ignore you?

How do you evangelize?

I'd first need to know what is meant by "evangelize".

If you're asking how often I try to argue with people to try and convert them to Christianity then my answer is never.

If you're asking how often I talk about my hope in Christ, then as often as I can.

I don't think what Charsan is saying that he/she doesn't do anything. Just that they will speak up when asked.

That is how I evangelize as well. I have had many people ask me why I am different then others and so I tell them.

Not everyone is a extrovert, wanting to talk to everyone they meet, and yes, God made us that way. God made people different because there are all different types of people and it takes a person that is like another to truly understand the other person. Walk a mile in the other person's shoes so to speak.

As long as someone is evangelizing, how it's being done shouldn't matter.

Yes by my living, I do not do as evangelicals and yap I live my Christianity

To live your faith is essential. Your life must also be different from the normal worldly "life style" - at least differently enough to be noticed as different. Otherwise there will never be any curiosity as to why your life is different, and no one will ask you to "give an answer for your faith." If your life is not consistent with your faith, your words may not have the desired effect.

Romans 10:13-15 (New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition)
For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
But how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him? And how are they to proclaim him unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Through no other name than Jesus the Christ is acceptable to God according to scripture. So the connection between your life and the founder of your faith is needed. IMHO.

Exactly. I had a friend who was an evangelical and he felt so much pressure from others to evangelize to "win souls" that he end up in the hospital with a nervous breakdown. I am not an extrovert nor is everyone and the idea that we all have to do something the same way is silly and I do jot view life from evangelical/reformed glasses. Thank you for you post

I Evangelize a little bit, but don’t spend a ton of my time doing it. How? I typically ask questions that will lead somebody back to scripture to research. From my experience, when you unload a lot of information people tend to stop listening after a few minutes or have other blocks that get in the way of receiving what your saying. So, I ask a bunch of questions to challenge their perspective then usually my last question is have you read the Bible to see what it says about ________.

I’ll give you guys an example. Let’s say the topic is “Love”. Super relevant topic, right? A very misunderstood topic too. So, if I meet somebody who is maybe coming out of a bad relationship or says they don’t believe in love I’ll ask, “What is love to you?” — then let that person answer and explain. You continue to listen to ask more questions to help shape and form their perspective towards the gospel. Three, four, maybe five questions later I lead them to scripture to conclude what the Bible says what love is. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

In a nutshell.. I get their viewpoint on what the topic is, ask questions to open their mind to other perspectives and then lead the individual to the Bible.

um may i know what the gospel is about?
I ask a few questions about their assurance of going to heaven,. Most will tell you they are good people and repent of their sins. So, i start off with heaven (eternal life)being a free gift and non one can work for it. We then go through the 10 commandments to debunk the theory of self-righteousness and show them that God hates sinners and will punish them on judgement day. Then i share what Christ's death meant on the cross (2 Cor 5:7) and ephesians 2:8-9. The more i share the gospel, the better i get at it. Been doing it for 3 years now and it's all that matters-Souls should be saved.

Turn away from unrighteous life, live righteously, ask for forgiveness when you fail. Trust in Christ's mercy through the cross. Give your whole life to Christ.
