Ok. Republicans should just sit down and shut-up ...

Not all of them -- just McConnell and Graham. If they wanted to be at all relevant to the impeachment process, they should have run for the House, not the Senate.

They'll get their chance after the Articles of Impeachment are drafted. Of course, if either of them had a modicum of knowledge about how our government works, they'd have already known this.

Ok. Republicans should just sit down and shut-up ... letting Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi lie day after day about anything they can dream up to damage the president?

I don't think so. I also don't think that's how the founding fathers thought impeachment should work.

As has been pointed out multiple times, Republicans are also present in those closed door sessions. They get equal time to ask questions of the witnesses...!

It is very interesting that, while you express concern that Pelosi et al might leak damaging revelations about Trump, I see nothing from you or any other Trump supporter to indicate any leaks from those Republicans in the committees showing positive findings for him...!

Why might that be, do you think...?

Thanks for providing that excellent example of what appears to be a bold-faced lie ... or innuendo ... lacking any factual basis of support.
Major projection here.

Let's consider it though. Have you considered the Clintons' worth now, relative to when Bill Clinton took office. Have you looked at Obama's net worth now?
It's been nearly 20 years since Bill Clinton left office. A better comparison would be to check how the wealth of the Clintons from before office and upon leaving office. Which way did their net worth go?

Better yet, let's talk about Hunter Biden. How many millions did his net worth go up after he took pay-offs from Ukraine and China?
The payoff bit is a lie. Consider that Hunter Biden didn't work for any Chinese company until after his father left office - then you see how desperate these lies - originating from Donald and his minions - are.

As for the OP - the Senate does not control the House. This is just blatant partisan political grandstanding for campaign dollars. Donald's campaign is loaded and can funnel big bucks to other campaigns.

A pity they'd rather use their time to grandstand...

Because it's starting to look more and more like Donald's been caught dead to rights, and the only way to save him is to destroy the entire legal process...

Sen. Lindsey Graham's resolution to the Senate condemning the House impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump has "absolutely no substance," said a constitutional scholar, and is full of "phony objections."

... so says the political activist, Laurence Tribe, who Newsweek references as their constitutional scholar.

Laurence Tribe - Wikipedia
Tribe is one of the co-founders of the liberal American Constitution Society, the law and policy organization formed to counter the conservative Federalist Society...

Tribe served as a judicial adviser to the Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. In February 2010, he was named "Senior Counselor for Access to Justice" in the Department of Justice.

You forgot "Harold Hongju Koh, Sterling Professor of International Law at Yale, told Newsweek that Graham's resolution is "a legally ignorant red herring.""

and "Frank Bowman, Floyd R. Gibson Missouri Endowed Professor of Law at the University of Missouri, told Newsweek the Republican complaints about the House impeachment inquiry are "without merit.""

Kho's credentials appear even more politically compromised.
Harold Hongju Koh - Wikipedia
On March 23, 2009, the White House announced Koh's nomination as Legal Adviser to the State Department in the Obama administration, the senior legal adviser to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
As for Frank Bowman, he's a devout anti-Trumper, who has written numerous anti-Trump articles and books.

Did you really expect an unbiased article from Newsweek?

The resolution implies that the House Democrats are not using due process and are not transparent.
But they are using the House rules as passed by a Republican led House in 2015 and it is signed by then House Speaker John Boehner.

And a court this week indicated that the inquiry is legal by insisting the DOJ turn over all records from the Mueller probe to the House committees.

Noting that Boehner made plenty of bad decisions, that's why the Republican base forced him out.

Are you saying that Democrats should continue to uphold the bad decisions made by bad Republicans?

No, we're saying the Republicans don't get to complain about lying in the bed they made themselves.

Ahh ... so silence is the only acceptable option.

Just ... NO.

Howl all you want. It’s just going to fall on deaf ears. These were the rules Democrats abided by when Republicans were in power. They will be the rules Republicans abide by now that the Democrats are in power. May they be unfair and should change. Possibly, but the Republicans have shown in recent years fighting fair is for losers so Democrats aren’t going to level the playing field now that they have gained the upper ground. So scream all you want your bed is uncomfortable, turn your anger to the Republicans that made it for you.

They used those rules when investigating Benghazi. They thought it was fine then.
How hypocritical of them to complain now. And it was not just Boehner - it was all the Republicans of 2015 in the House.

There is nothing shady regarding this inquiry now. There are Republicans in those meetings.
They are in a fact-gathering phase. There will be the open inquiry after and then a vote whether or not to impeach.

Republicans are focused on the process, but not really defending the fact that Trump asked a foreign government to investigate his opponent. That was illegal. His obstructing in refusing to investigate.

McConnell and Graham have an acceptable option: resign their Senate seats and run for the House of Representatives where their opinion will be relevant.

Even if Graham and Mitch get their 50 votes, it will still not rise to the importance of a joint resolution, like National Dairy Goat Awareness Week.

I hope they do get their 50 votes. Then when the open house impeachment starts, they can explain to their constituents why they voted to condemn an inquiry that actually exposed the presidents crimes. They can suck up to Trump as much as they want, but there will come a day of judgement.

Ah yes, the president's crimes.

We've heard for three years now about the president's crimes. It's long past time to put up or shut up, as the saying goes. It's time for Democrats to show their cards, face up. The problem seems to be that they can't. Every time they show their cards, it turns out to be nothing. To keep the show going, Democrats have retreated behind closed doors and restricted the rights of the opposition, so that only the approvaed Democrat version of events gets to the press.
