Can God make it like something never happened (an accident, an abusive situation, a natural disaster, an illness, a death, etc.)?

Here is an off-the-wall example, would God ever choose to wipe the memory of a negative event from all those involved so as to heal them of all signs of the trauma (physical, mental, spiritual) and make it like that negative never occurred (even though it did)?

What do you think? I mean, technically God can do anything, but does He ever choose to reverse time or wipe out the memory of a negative event so He doesn't even need to reverse time?

A big YES...

He promises this in the OT.

He not only promises to wipe out the enemy but promises to erase the memory of them...

Ps 34:
16 The face of the LORD is against evildoers,
To cut off the memory of them from the earth.

The young men and young women will perish,

the infants and those with gray hair.

Deut 32:
26 I said I would scatter them

and erase their name from human memory

Ps 9:5
You have destroyed the wicked;
You have blotted out their name forever and ever.

6 The enemy has come to an end in perpetual ruins,
And You have uprooted the cities;
The very memory of them has perished.

This is very important to understand when dealing with Trauma.

No, God can't do this.

He can certainly erase memory that is only a manipulation of a created being. But I don't think He would make that a general thing, because true healing only happens once wrong things are confronted and dealt with justly and in Love and Faith.
But I don't think He can reverse the consequence of sin, that is, after all, why He gave His life.
In His death we have a resolution for the wrong things that have been done and He has achieved this not by reversing the effect but by taking the consequence into Himself.

God didn't stop time, he stopped the sun (technically the rotation of the earth). If he did, then Joshua and all the men in war would have froze in time too.

Yes, this is correct, God would have stopped the rotation of the earth for a time and also removed the rotational energy of all things not attached to the earth so nothing would suddenly fly off at 40,000km/hr.

2 Kings 20: 9-10 "Isaiah answered, this is the Lord's sign to you that the Lord will do what he promised: shall the shadow for forward 10 steps, or shall it go back 10? It is a simple matter for the shadow to go forward 10 steps, said Hezekiah. Rather, have it go back 10.

NO!! This is not reversing time. This is simply the manipulation of light or photons.
A shadow is an absence of light in an otherwise lit area. God can simply remove or stop photons from hitting the surface concerned and presto, you have a shadow.

Just to add to above, God can stop the consequences of a bad event, eg
you will die but he says he will bring you back to life, etc.
you break your leg and he can heal it if he wants to etc,
he may even act to stop you breaking your leg in the first place BEFORE it happens, but he never reverses or undoes an event once it has occurred.

What about erasing the memory of the bad thing -- and not just for you, but all involved? Think He might do that, as a way of healing trauma, for example?

Like the end of the world already happened?
I don't recall that happening,
but perhaps it did happen and my memory of it is deleted.

I suppose He could and might do that in some exceptional situations (ie very very few) as technically that would be part of mitigating or stopping the negative consequences of a sin or otherwise bad, traumatic event. I guess it could be a type of healing in some situations.

This is an issue for people that are healed. In some cases there is no evidence that there every was a problem. God is outside of time so He can go back in time and heal a situation. He can go forward in time also so we can get a glimpse of our future. We are told that He proclaims the end from the beginning. He tells us: "I am watching over my word to perform it.” (Jer1:12)

Post #21 was a good example someone provided. Thanks for your response!
