I used to have a prayer partner and we fasted once a week for the nation, I have sort of got out of the mentality of fasting and looking for a team to fast with. So far there is two of us. no one has to do the same type of fast, it could simply be fasting from coffee for a day, or fasting from sugar for a day, or fasting from meat for a few days. You can be catholic or christian, as long as you love the Bible, I don't care what your theology is or church background. This is a place simply to unite over prayer. We can pray for our nation, or our city, or for victory over personal sin. You can post prayer requests here so, those of us are fasting can lift you up. My prayer request is for a house situation that we can sell our house to a potential buyer sometime in the next month and that we can migrate to our new city or house within the winter months sometime, also another request I have is to continue in this intermittent fasting regularly and being more faithful to my prayer list/journal.

Here are some interesting stuff on fasting:

I have never fasted myself but know several people that have, particularly from social media, TV, certain foods like chocolate, etc. I do have Jentezen Franklin’s book on fasting on the way though, and my pastor and I are discussing doing a Daniel fast together with some of the other men of the church soon.

Catholics are Christian. The two are not different. Just a correction.
not even some christians are true christians, but I do know that there are many catholics who are saved. I was simply saying that this thread is open to anyone who loves the Bible.

Prayer changes you. It has no effect on what God has already planned for your life. But it does open you up to see what God has perfectly arranged for your future.
Why Should We Pray?
In Matthew 7:11, Jesus says, “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

apparently there are many things God wishes to give us, but we must ask Him first.

God knows what and if you plan to ask and He answered before you were born.

Matthew 6:8
Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Prayer is healthy for you, the person praying:
Luke 18:1
And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.

Galatians 1:15
But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace,

Jeremiah 1:4-5
Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Prayer does change God's permissive will, not His perfect will (according to matthew 7:11). I suggest if you don't agree with this to start a thread and debate it in the debate section, not in the prayer section. These threads are not technically for debate, but to post about prayer requests.

He wants to give you the assurance that He already answered perfectly.
It is an astounding gift.
no sir, that is not what matthew 7:11 says at all, again please post a new thread and debate it in the debate section not the prayer section.

"Pray continuously" is excellent advice!

Matthew 6:6
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

James 5:16
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing,

Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Matthew 6:7
“And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.

Matthew 6:9-13
Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

I do apologize for any perceived debating. I will stop.
