If you were a Jew in the ot, you have to keep the law of Moses, circumcised male kids, offer a lamb every time you sinned.

Thus, you would naturally think all of us, post Paul, are under easy believism.
thank you I really appreciate your response my friend. That's a very good analogy never thought of it like that. I was reading stuff on other posts about this and saw some brought up stuff like free grace doctrine etc I've never heard of such a thing. It seems like people fear Grace though for some reason and some seem to have an I have to get into heaven somehow on my own mentality and of course the discussion turned into bickering, and heresy and all that got thrown up. I love discussion with good people I don't understand why people get so angry and scream heresy if there particular belief system is questioned.

Thanks for the kind words. I lean towards dispensationalism so I have no problems believing that, because we are under the grace dispensation, we are justified purely by believing in Jesus death burial and resurrection.

But I do understand why so many believe in a mixture of James and Paul, thus they believe more in faith and works

(James 1:1 [KJV]) James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

Paul wrote to the Gentiles. The difference is Law for the Jews and Grace for the Gentiles. The Law or Works never saved anyone.

Is this like a OSAS type doctrine that even the fundamentalist Baptist groups despise. I'm just curious and wondering what in the world is it about

Hello Omah, to put it simply the ''easy believism'' that you quoted is usually used as a term of mocking.

I'll tell you where it come from,The people who believe in works-salvation ridicule the Biblical idea of eternal security calling it easy believism or OSAS or once saved always saved.

As a person who believes in eternal security or easy believism I'll embrace the title, because the scriptures support it and all through time Christs followers have been mocked by outsiders. Christs people were first called Christians as a term of insult but it stuck because it makes sense to the true believers to be a slave to Christ, let the mockers keep mocking.

Here is my own idea of eternal security:

I don't believe I can lose my salvation and it's because salvation has been described as the eternal gift of God:

John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God

Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord

If God takes back the gift he told me I can keep forever,he is a liar.
If I have to work for it,it is not a free gift.
I cannot give back the gift because Gods will is greater than mine.

Therefore I believe salvation is a free gift for those who believe on Christ and cannot lose their salvation.

Thank you my friend for the answer so sorry for the delay been dealing with some personal issues. Your explanation explained it for me I've heard the term before but always in derision and cynicism. Eternal security and the falling from grace doctrines have done a lot to cause problems in the church. It's been an on going fight in my family for year's. I don't think god intended it to be that way but it's our human nature to defend fervently what we believe in. Thank you so much and all of you have a wonderful night
