What publicity stunt did the Democrats stage?

Ironically, the Republican's "publicity stunt" appears to be to protest that the Democrats are not doing a publicity stunt, since they are doing it behind closed doors and out of view of the public.

That ASSUMES that Trump is going down. That is not a done deal yet.

If the Dems had anything at all it would have leaked out by now and they would be clamoring to have an impeachment vote, not the phony little silly things that have been purposely leaked.

They have to make Trump look as bad as possible to the voters, the reason being the Dems know they don't have a candidate that can beat him at the ballot box. Problem is it doesn't seem to be working with those smelly Wal Mart voters they seem to be seeing thru the charade.

Have you just awoken from a coma? The past couple weeks have been nothing but facts coming out confirming and fleshing out the outline provided by the whistleblower's report of credible and urgent wrongdoing by Trump.

I mean, if we're being totally fair, Trump never asked the Ukrainians to make up dirt on Biden - just dig up dirt (which probably didn't exist). But that's a pretty minor distinction in the grand scheme of things.
The investigation into Hilary's email server use was all it took to help Trump and his 2016 election. It didn't matter that after the election that the case was dropped with no charges laid.

All Trump wanted (it seems) was for the Ukrainian government to make a public proclamation that they had opened and are currently investigating the Bidens. It didn't matter if any dirt was found or not.

Almost 3 years of different accusations and still nothing, wake me when the Dems finally find something they can do something with instead of the endless nothing burgers. And just because the nothing burgers are stacked miles high does not lend any credibility to the stack, if it did the impeachment would have already started and they wouldn't still be stacking.

He should have been impeached long ago, but unfortunately Republicans controlled the house for 2 years and continue to hold the senate. So far they have steadfastly refused to hold him accountable no matter the evidence. We’re now at a point where that sycophancy is finally crumbling, and Trump is in serious trouble.

For what keeping his campaign promises and telling the Establishment where to stick it?

Well, in this case, for withholding military assistance to Ukraine ... to pressure them to produce information helpful to Trump's reelection ...

Really? Considering the Ukrainians didn't find out the money was frozen till about a month after the phone call that's kinda hard to believe.

BTW if you really think about it all foreign aid is some kind of quid pro quo, you expect a certain behavior or results from the recipients of the money (like the Iranian nuke deal for instance)

I'm curious as to why folks are wanting so hard to forget about/ignore Crowdstrike and interference in the 2016 election

“It’s a bunch of Freedom Caucus members having pizza around a conference table pretending to be brave,” added Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-N.J.), referring to the hard-line conservative group. “All they basically did here was to storm a castle that they already occupied.”

Well said.

"....more than 45 House Republicans — nearly a quarter of the House GOP conference — already have full access to the depositions through their membership on one of the three panels leading the impeachment inquiry. During the depositions, Republican lawyers are given the same amount of time to question witnesses as Democratic counsels."

Impeachment deposition delayed after Republicans storm proceedings

The Ukrainians knew that they didn't have the money, even though it had been previously approved by Congress. And they were in pretty desperate straits due to the Russians at their borders.

Conditions for receiving US aid shouldn't include assistance in the US president's election.

The Mueller investigation was all about Russian interference in the 2016 election ....

Almost 3 years of different accusations and still nothing,
Several people got charged and convicted of crimes as a result of the Special Council investigation.
Michael Cohen for example got charged with violation of Campaign finance laws at the direction of Individual 1 (Trump).
The Special Council report also lays out significant evidence of obstruction of justice by President Trump in 11 instances. The guilt of this is yet to be determined and might be addressed once Trump is no longer a sitting president. Congress have yet to determine whether to impeach on this item.

The Ukraine incident has come to light recently, William Barr (who looks to have had prior knowledge) and had been mentioned in Trump's phone call (the incident in question), rather than recuse himself, stated that there is nothing to see and directed that the Justice Department aren't going to investigate this. So, congress are investigating this, as a co-equal, non executive branch as a check and balance on the executive branch (of which Barr is part of). The evidence is currently being gathered despite the Republicans' efforts to obstruct and hamper this investigation. It seems highly likely that articles of impeachment will be drawn up as a result of this investigation.

Go back to sleep, this will all progress regardless if you are watching or not.

All prior impeachment inquiry votes have failed. This is not an impeachment inquiry, but a coop, hence the speed, privacy, and propaganda.

In essence, what the Dems have done here is made it allowable for a Republican Speaker and a few committee chairs to dig until they find anything they disagree with by a future Dem president (God forbid), call it an abuse of power, and then try to kick him out. And the Dems will either have to fall in line in order to not be hypocrites, or oppose it and expose this current coop for what it really has become.
A 'coop' is what chickens live in. The word you're looking for is 'coup'.

The point was there are the meetings being held in private, when everything should be public, and they are right. Their attempt to go in was to further reinforce the reality of the privacy imposed, with the exception of the lies the Dems are choosing to 'leak' to sway public opinion.

Glad to see you noticed. Guess it worked.
Crime investigations aren’t held in public. But Trump’s special, eh? They’ll be public soon enough.

So, apparently a group of frat boys storm a secure facility, order in pizzas and then leave all their trash scattered about...

Good grief...all they needed was Kavanaugh with a keg of beer...!

I’d point out that simply announcing that you have opened an investigation of Biden’s son creates a public impression that there is reason to suspect illegal activity. Even if you never end up reporting any false information, it’s a political attack. Assuming (as seems to be true) that there isn’t actual reason for an investigation.

So Trumps demand of the Ukrainians is a problem even if you don’t think he was implying that they should make up dirt.
