Hello and good evening everyone. I’m still seeking spiritual breakthrough in my relationship with God. Oh I long for the days of being overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit during worship, prayer, serving, etc. Please pray for me and let me know how I may pray for you.

So, friend, much of what you are describing sounds emotional, not spiritual.

Please be aware; many pastors and tv preachers preach about a promised "breakthrough" ("God's gonna send you a breakthrough!"), but this is not really a Scriptural concept. Not really.

I will definitely pray for you, friend. But spiritual dryness or darkness within the heart or soul is not always a bad sign. Sometimes God in His love allows this.

May I suggest that you read the screwtape letters.
Lewes put a lot of practical advice for young christians into this work of fiction.

One that applies to you is that God often will leave a Christian seemingly on his own to see if he will sink or swim.
If God seems distant, you have to grit your teeth and carry on, reading your bible, in praying about what you read, in praying for those in need and in attending church.
Life is not a constant level feild, but a series of ups and downs, of lows and of highs.
We have to learn to trust God and carry on.

I think there are spiritual breakthroughs definitely. Others have experienced them and so have I. The Bible says "The weapons of our warfare are not fleshly but mighty to the destroying of strongholds, casting down vain imaginations and everything that exalts itself against the glory of YHWH" aka God "and bringing every thought captive to Him."

We are also told "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

Read Psalm 1. There we are told that those who meditate on the Word day and night will be blessed in whatever they do.

So in those verses we are taught these lessons: We need to destroy strongholds, i.e. have spiritual breakthroughs. We also see where the battles are fought. In the mind.

Now I believe it is utterly impossible to turn all of our thoughts over to the Lord on our own efforts. Impossible. We may try and have a few minutes, even an hour, of success, then it is back to junk thoughts as usual.

So, my prayer for you is that you pray and pray to be led to get your mind off of the cares and distractions of this world, and to get them on the Lord and the Word instead. At first that seems boring. The world's way seems so much more interesting. But, as you train your mind to focus on the Word and the Lord, more and more you start to have peace, wisdom, comfort and even joy.
