Yes, to some extent there is some truth to that. Some Christians, like the Israelites of old, can fail miserably. And I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that I have the right to judge here those Germans in recent history who gave their hearty assent and consent to Hitler and his forces, all of which is in quite stark contrast to the decisions and actions of either Christians like Dietrich Bonhoeffer or other Christians like Dean Heinrich Gruber, or especially someone like Corrie ten Boom.Sadly, far FAR too many Christians were willing to step forward to volunteer to be agents of that curse. It would seem that the curse applied to these people as well.
I think it's not too difficult to separate the sheep from the goats in some of this very messy historical political and spiritual catastrophe. Let's also just face the fact that all of that which composed the entire episode in what we call World War II was a terrible thing for all involved .................and because I know that this is the case, I'm not going to just casually play armchair prophet and demand that my view be taken as any kind of 'final solution' to our interpretations, but as a Christian and as a philosopher who makes ongoing academic analyses, I'm still going to hang with my current interpretation of the Holocaust, as painful as that is to have to say.
