Ohhhhh...why? At this point, one is in a position where Trump is brilliantly trolling liberals and you can't take anything he says seriously.

Or you recognize Trump as a misanthrope.

If I have to hear ONE MORE CONSERVATIVE distill their entire raison d'etre as being trolling the libruls I'm going to scream. You are correct, Trump and his supporters seem to be more than happy just enjoying "Liberal tears" which indeed makes them both trolls and misanthropes.

What is wrong with us as a cohesive nation?

ROFL.

I have never seen such a childish president in my short 42 years. I'm sorry.
No kidding. And the fact that he has a reasonable shot at a second term speaks volumes about the judgment of a wide swath of the American electorate.

What a freak show.

What a freak show.

Why stop at a second term? Keep the party going!

LOL, if he wins this suit that'll spell the end to most right wing news outlets.

Yes, if this goes to trial, I think you'll quickly see a lawsuit filed against Fox News for their "Fair and Balanced" claim. Worse, I think some documents have already been leaked from Fox News, in the past, that show they were intentionally not being "fair and balanced."

I think I agree with most, though, CNN will claim First Amendment rights and it won't ever make it to trial.

Fox actually dropped "Fair and Balanced" a couple of years ago. Now it's "Most Watched. Most Trusted.", which actually makes it even more vulnerable if this goes anywhere.

I understand but I believe they can still be sued for that time period. I also don't believe Fox would want to have to turn over the various documents that would be asked for as discovery. Again, my recollection is a limited number of documents have already leaked, which clearly shows that they were working to change the public's attitude, not being "fair and balanced."

From the "More popcorn needed", files: Trump campaign to sue CNN over pro-impeachment bias, demands ‘substantial payment’

In a four-page letter to CNN, Zucker, and Executive Vice President David Vigilante, Trump attorney Charles J. Harder cited years of anti-Trump bias at the network and claimed the cable giant has broken its promise of “excellence in journalism.”
...
While media is typically protected by the First Amendment, Harder said the bias he cited at CNN was a violation of the Lanham Act “by constituting misrepresentations to the public, to your advertisers, and to others” to distribute “truly fair and balanced” news.

“Accordingly, my clients intend to file legal action against you, to seek compensatory damages, treble damages, punitive damages, injunctive relief, reimbursement of legal costs, and all other available legal and equitable remedies, to the maximum extent permitted by law,” said the letter.

What’s more, he suggested that even if the campaign and CNN come to an agreement, he would seek money as part of that deal
.

Apparently, the Lanham Act deals with the matter of "False advertising": Lanham Act | Wikipedia

The Act prohibits a number of activities, including ... false advertising.

they were working to change the public's attitude

They seem to be doing that effectively. It’s not clear from over here how much is about change, and how much about reinforcement. Whichever it is, it is incredibly blatant, I’ve watched it a few times and you have people on their spouting some misrepresentation of some issue or other, followed by the presenters using actual phrases like ‘well to me it’s blatantly obvious’ before getting another couple of talking heads to reiterate the same misleading nonsense. I don’t think they’d get away with such blatant distorting of events anywhere else, for some reason you have a big market for that ‘tell me what I want to hear’ kind of reporting over there.

This is ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS. Won’t CNN then be able to subpoena records and witnesses in order to defend themselves?
Plus imagine all the air-time to demonstrating how Donald's many lies are actually lies. No more time for right-wing talking heads, have to be sure to show that the claims that Donald is lying are backed up with copious documentation.

Was that like his letter to Erdogan ?
He probably got his lawyer to do it. No, not the one in jail for paying off the inappropriate content star he cheated with his wife on. The other one.

Nope, not the one who met with his partners before they got arrested at an airport with one-way tickets out of the country.

The other one.

One cannot defame Donald Trump. It is simply not possible.
Of course it's possible. He is not, for example, a Satanist, a drug addict or a drunkard.

Here is what I would ask vocal Trump supporters to consider. 20, 30, 50 years from now your friends, children, and grandchildren will know you defended this clown. Is that the legacy you want?

I get it - it is hard to admit you are wrong. It is hard for all of us. But I would ask you to consider the long term damage supporting this man will do to your reputation.
