Look where he ended up. I was detained during the last related thread and wasn't able to comment. Here's your chance to if no cults take it over Not many greater than Paul in the new testament.
It is written , in the NT, that EVERYONE (on earth today) starts out subject to the prince of the power of the air - as sons of disobedience. That's nothing special or new for Paul.

Doesn't reprobate mean unable to repent?

(in Calvinism) a sinner who is not of the elect and is predestined to damnation.

I have no idea what the thread is about. :)

I love reading about his conversion.

Ananias who had a major role in it was a regular believer but open to being used of Him...
I agree, his transformation to Paul is a wonderful example of Gods grace. He is my favorite. We still don't know what his thorn was?

Yeah that was my thread but I was forced to have it closed because @Saint Steven derailed it beyond repair with off topic universalism posts.

I don't understand what you mean with this OP. Calling the Apostle Paul reprobate is not a good or accurate thing to say. Then you appear to go on and compliment him? Strange.

Who doesn't know ?

It is stated very clearly in Scripture.
Reading the context it was most likely that he was suffering from a medical condition, because he mentioned the support they gave him and his ministry when he was suffering from illness while ministering to them.

Many in the Calvinistic genre believe that because Paul wrote Romans 7 and uses "first person" that he was saying that he is the struggling sinner described. Of course, that is out of context as it is describing someone under the law as he once was as a Pharisee, but Jesus frees us from sin, therefore we don't need the law to tell us not to do something we have no desire to do, due to being born again of the divine nature, the Holy Spirit. But try to tell them that and it is like trying to talk to a brick wall. Nothing penetrates, even though if they would just keep reading, Romans 8 tells us that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ frees us from Romans 7's law of sin and death. I think they just want to justify their own struggle with sin instead of doing what is necessary to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Can anyone quote the two verses re the thorn ?

There are three

Thorn in the flesh:

Ezekiel 28:24
(24) And there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

Numbers 33:55
(55) But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.

Judges 2:3
Therefore I also said, ‘I will not drive them out before you; but they shall be thorns in your side, and their gods shall be a snare to you.’ ”

SS is good at that. Paul was not a reprobate but Saul was:) I opened this topic in your honor because the Uni's took yours over.
