Trump is busy
Making America Great Again.
Wish more realized that.
It's not an easy job.
And not all will be pleased.

I have asked this repeatedly without any response, so hopefully I will get an answer. Other than the big tax break for the rich, what exactly has Trump done for the U.S. at large? The tax deal reduced interest deductions that hurt most homeowners, plus average wage earners will begin seeing a slow increase in their income tax, which was stipulated in the Tax Bill. Now, other than a tax break that benefits him, what has he done to "make America great again?"

Middle class loving Trump.
Low unemployment.
Two of many.

Best -- appointing Great Judges.

The judiciary should be politically and religiously neutral. Judges should be nominated on the basis of their knowledge and abilities not their political or religious beliefs.

I take it from your reply that you have no actual response to what the Admiral claimed, so you're forced to respond with rote cliches?

Repeating the mantra has been literally the only thing Trump supporters have had since day 1.

Sounds good but,
has it always worked out that way?

In Canada it certainly has. In my lifetime I have never witnessed any controversy surrounding court appointments such as is common lately in the USA.

I agree, with the current Constitution it is unlikely that we are going to get neutral judges on the Supreme Court. I'd love to see a Constitutional Amendment that changes the way we appoint judges to a commission with equal representation of the major political parties.

Unemployment was low under Obama, so no credit there, and picking Republican names out of a hat requires little effort. What has he done for the nation as a whole? What effort has he really put into his job that has made any group of average working-class Americans better?

I am middle class and think the guy is a buffoon and crook.
Obama left with a growing economy..He did a great job recovering GW's failed economy. He gets the credit for the momentum on job growth. It has only taken Trump 2 1/2 years to start it's decline. Amazing feat actually. Check the manufacturing decline. The decline in exports..The budget deficit when we should have a surplus.

Whatever 2 of many means...???

Now appointing a proven abuser of women as a Supreme Court Justice is dubious at best. How does one trust that justice will be served by someone who has no sense of it?

No we need to get the toddler out of the Whitehouse. His potty mouth is fouling the air. We need adult leadership so yesterday this ***INDEPENDENT*** decided to support Bernie.

Doesn't matter who it's written by! If the content of his comment is extreme than that's what it is. To say the Republic is under attack because the Commander and Chief makes a military decision which is his RIGHT to do there's nothing of the Republic under attack. The only thing that would be an attack of the Republic would be to take an illegal position of stopping the President to exercise his rights under the Constitution.

It seems you missed the entire point of the editorial: A nation that does not abide by it's promises and values will not last.

And yes, it does matter who it was written by. McRaven was the former commander of JSOC (Joint Special Operations Command) ...with his experience, he appreciates the working relationship US Special Forces had forged the SDF over the last four years - a relationship that was built on mutual respect and trust.

In Syria, elite U.S. troops among the 1,000 American personnel in the country worked closely with Kurdish counterterrorism units while regular Kurdish fighters carried out most of the ground operations against ISIS. The U.S. partnership with the Kurds grew as America armed and trained them and later merged them with Arab groups under an umbrella militia called the Syrian Democratic Forces. The SDF spearheaded the fight against ISIS in Syria, rolling back its most important strongholds. It has said that it lost more than 10,000 soldiers in that fight.

With one phone call with the Turkish President, the POTUS violated that trust.

The last Republican I voted for was GW..that was throwing my vote away. GW did me 1 favor. He helped me to discard the rose colored glasses I had about Republicans when he campaigned to go to Iraq for weapons of mass destruction when what he really wanted was revenge for his father. He killed thousands and maimed even more of our patriot soldiers for a personal vendetta. Won't vote for another Republican until you may find 1 amongst your ranks that at least has the character and integrity of President Reagan.
