How do you evangelize?

I mostly do it online....
I try to keep it simple... If I can get an Atheist to listen to a video about the near death experience of Colton Burpo I really think that that could get them interested and Messiah Yeshua - Jesus can lead them from there.....

It doesn't mean being a people pleaser, if it did I would agree with everyone here. What it does mean is to live a life of a Christian. As Fr. Chapin, a priest that gives homilies on world harvest television, says "The best vitamin for a Christian is to B1". If a person behaves as a Christian than there will be no ambiguity in anyone's mind where that person stands and God can work through that. I do not do as evangelicals and talk a lot, I live the life of a Christian as best I can and let God do the talking :)
Hi Charsan, again, I know exactly what you mean. Unfortunately, it seems to me that if we don't use words (and we're not dressed like a priest or a nun), why would anyone think that we are anything else than just a nice, caring person? In fact, I've known many non-Christians who were just that, nice, kind, compassionate, and caring, so much so that I was truly surprised when I finally found out that they were not Christians.

Jesus is the light of the world to be sure, but He also had this to say, to you and to me, "YOU are the light of the world" .. Matthew 5:14-16, and I believe that He meant that in both deed and truth (we are to speak the truth in love, yes?).

One thing to remember is this, all are not called to be preachers and evangelists, but we are all called to be His witnesses, which just means relating to others what Jesus and being a Christian means to you (and perhaps how your life has been impacted for the better because you are .. and how they can become a Christian if you sense or know that they are interested in doing so, of course). In fact, it's almost like being a witness in a trial. You are called to testify about what you know and/or feel, not what you don't know.

You could begin to simply tell people that you're a Christian, that you have chosen to be helpful to them for that reason. You could also ask them if there is something that they'd like you to pray about for them, and/or if they have any questions about Jesus or the faith or the church that you could answer for them (however the HS leads you).

God wants us to be His witnesses, but you certainly don't need to preach or be an evangelist to do so (just start out small, pray, and see where it goes, and keep it as honest and real and personal as you can). People are lost and need to know what you know of God and His love for them :)

God bless you! (1 Peter 3:15)

Wouldn’t it be great to get to the level where we could perform signs and wonders to SHOW people the power of God?! That is what Jesus did after all, and the same power that was within him dwells within us.

But that was what the Jews had, and it did not do much good for them to believe in Jesus.

We will always disagree and please to not tell me what to do or how to act, I said my piece and stand by it. Goodbye
Hi Charsan, I wasn't trying to tell you how you should act (that was not my intention anyway)! I was actually trying to pass along some of the suggestions about witnessing that helped me many years ago.

I'm truly sorry about the misunderstanding and I apologize.

I think St_Worm was trying to be helpful... It was good advice at least for me.

Most Christians don't have those gifts. We have to use what we have been given.

Christ love,

Anothe way. I’m traveling right now staying in a hotel which has no Gideons Bible in the night stand. So I will leave one here.
I turn the radio in my hotel room to Moody Radio and leave it on when I check out so the maid will hear it.

My life is all about evangelism. I use the opportunities God gives me to proclaim the gospel. Every friend of mine and close family members has repeatedly heard the gospel from me. As a result, some say am "too christian" while others avoid me. Thankfully, some have come to Christ and are being discipled. Glory to God who gives us the strength.

um may i know what the gospel is about?

Yes by my living, I do not do as evangelicals and yap I live my Christianity

There are Mormons who live better than some "Christians," but they always share their faith in conversation. We are failing our mission when we don't actually share the good news and pretend that people will follow anyways.

@ Jonaitis:

I had a friend who loved golf. He played about a hundred games a season, was a member of a private golf club, studied the strategies and mechanics of golf, and so on. Guess what he always inevitably talked about when he was with me. Right: Golf. I've never been a golfer. Have no interest in anything golf. Did that stop my friend from telling me about what he loved? Not for a moment. The same is true for most people I know. They talk about what they love. This could be their kids or grandkids, their favorite sports team, their favorite hobby, their spouse, their work - you name it. So, what's wrong with Christians? They claim to love Jesus but just can't bring themselves to talk about him to others. Why is that? It looks to me like their claim to love Christ and their actions aren't lining up.

The Bible says, "Whether, therefore, you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31) The best way, the most natural way, I glorify God is in the way my friend glorified golf: by loving it. And the best way I come to love God is by enjoying Him. And this happens in the midst of deepening, daily fellowship with Him. Most Christians know about God but relatively few of them enjoy rich, deep, constant fellowship with Him. The average believer has a relationship with God but they have little to no idea what it means to delight in Him. When they talk about God, then, it is in a rather clinical, academic way, the way one talks about gravity or the second law of thermodynamics. Just as it would be odd to suddenly begin to hold forth on entropy to someone, talking about God this way, in this detached theoretical way, is also odd. Most people have a subconscious awareness of this and so they struggle mightily to talk to others about Him, having nothing but an academic familiarity with Him from which to speak.

Evangelism happens quite naturally for those who truly know, love and enjoy God every day. Evangelism is nothing more, really, than doing what my golfer friend used to do: sharing with others his love of golf. When I evangelize, I'm simply telling people about what its like to know and walk with the God I love and how it is they might do so, too. There's no trick, then, to evangelism, no clever strategy; my golfer friend didn't stay up nights thinking about how he could subtly intrude golf into our conversations. No, the more a believer truly knows and loves God, the more freely and naturally evangelism happens for them. This is, I think, the simple "secret" to evangelism.
