Even knowing what we know about Trump, this is incredible. It’s the kind of thing you’d expect a teenager to write, not the head of state of the world’s only superpower.

To be fair...remember how many movies have been made about a politician dropping all pretense of "diplomatic language" and "saying like it is" or speaking straight and pulling no punches? This is a standard US fantasy and this is what it looks like.

Not as much fun as in the movies and a whole lot more scary.

Trump is actually proud of this letter. It’s terrifying to think what else he might have sent that we haven’t seen. Just like those other call transcripts he had hidden away on classified servers.

If a teenager wrote that he'd be reamed for his immaturity.

I'd thought it was a fake, as did most folks. I'm sure there were plenty in Donald's base who insisted it was fake, mocked those who thought it was real. Then once it was confirmed as being real, went from that to defending it.

What do you think Americans care? They let their citizens be killed by their cops in their homes and streets; why would Americans care about their national welfare? They bend over quick for "authority".

This must happpen for what happens next.

It just keeps getting weirder and weirder. The USA is now bombing some of its recently evacuated former bases in Syria to prevent arms, ammunition and other assets from falling into Turkish hands. This is after the president of the USA gave the Turks permission to invade Syria. All bets are off --- no one can trust the USA with any degree of confidence anymore.
