In this case the whistleblower is a person in the intelligence community which deals with classified material and national security, not someone from the DoJ.
Then get him in before the entire committee to testify in private and then release an unclassified transcript....this ain't rocket science. If the president has indeed violated the law then we, ALL of us, are entitled to know what that is instead of one little man keeping it secret.

The President has not been accused of violating the law, or even of committing "high crimes and misdemeanors." But you are right. We are entitled to know, and one of the results of the inquiry now under way will be to vouchsafe that knowledge to us. But there is no requirement that we be constantly informed in real time of the detailed proceedings of that inquiry.

No, that's just expressing an opinion, not a legal accusation, and cannot be acted on in the courts or in the Senate.
Here is what you said:
The President has not been accused of violating the law, or even of committing "high crimes and misdemeanors."
A legal accusation is a charge.
Now, had you said not charged with....you would have been correct.
My reply is correct and accurate.

OK, so what? Is your beef that the Golden One is being "accused" (in your sense of the term) of perfidious things rather than "charged?" Then he had better grow a thicker skin and what to be "charged."

Personally I don't believe anyone should ever be accused of anything without corroborating evidence....that is kinda foundational to our country wouldn't you agree? Have you seen any corroborating evidence to support the accusations? If so, please post a few sample here....I would be interested in seeing them.

We "accuse" each other of all kinds of things all the time in the sense that you mean it--which is basically no more than saying bad things about somebody. You only need evidence if you are sued for defamation.

So you go with the idea that truth is incidental when accusing people of violating the law?...that it is really no different than opinion?

Yes, unless the matter is brought before a competent court and evidence produced it is merely an opinion.

Do you really think that Nancy Pelosi is going to allow legally-suspect subcommittees to go ahead and mar a perfecktly good impeachment inquiry?

She will have trouble stopping a runaway horse....or so I hope.

It doesn’t concern you that your president regularly accuses people in public, without evidence?

He is a tit for tat guy.....he even admitted that when he gets hit he hits back harder. Maybe if the democrats would drop the unremitting hatred they openly display toward him he might reciprocate; if he wouldn't then your complaint would be valid.

What was he reciprocating with that whole birther thing? He pretty much kicked off his campaign with all that 'lock her up' nonsense. And what did McCain ever do to be the target of so much vitriol? Disagree with him? That's without getting into all the vile ways he has spoken about the string of women who have accused him of various degrees of sexual assault. What was he reciprocating for there? Their temerity at not liking it?

Is he really someone you would want as a friend or colleague? Remember the people in govt have to actually work with him, you can hardly expect a philandering con artist to be a popular guy people want to hang out with. He could change that dynamic, if he wanted to, by showing other people a modicum of respect, for starters.

You are misinformed about Trump. He only backs up when he gets a political nose bleed caused by his opponent.

Is this where we are supposed to ignore that Donald released a summary of the call showing evidence of the crimes in question?
