U.S. Unemployment Rate Falls to 50-Year Low - The White House

I was talking with a friend today in the construction business and he said that" he has been working straight for 15 months and owes it all to Trump." Under Obama he was laid off a little more than half the time.

My son with little construction experience just got on with a big engineering company one year ago and is making $60 an hour. Working 6 and 7 days a week with a ton of overtime money coming in.

If willing good time to seek employment.

Awesome president!!! Although reluctantly I'm sure, History will record him as one of the greatest for leading a divided country, the likes of we probably haven't seen since the Civil War.

Trump wants to bring both sides together but, one side just wants to complain.

Wonder what the Bible has to say about that?

lol, I don't suppose he pointed to any specific actions on the part of Trump that were responsible for this boom, did he?

He sounds like your financial adviser.

Under Obama he was laid off a little more than half the time.

Imagine that. Obama took office as the economy was in free-fall.

Getting a job isn't the real problem, Bob. It's getting a job that pays enough to live on and has got benefits.

I work construction jobs over the summer. Am healing at present from a broken right arm from falling off a roof. Reason for a long absence from here. I was working for free, doing a habitat for humanity style work in a poor area where folks who break their own backs working hard can't afford to keep a functional roof over their family's head despite that.

I don’t remember a time when it was easy to find a good-paying job with benefits. Depending on your qualifications, you have to endure some pretty hard times, work your way up by improving on what you bring to the table, and all-the-while displaying some level of dedication to your employer. If you don’t you’ll stay where you are, or unemployed all together. That’s the way it’s always been for those of us without a silver spoon. Why do you think more people are working now?

You're the Christian Bob, you tell me. What does the bible say about bringing both sides together? I am very interested to see the scriptural references.

I was house sitting for some friends of mine who have dual citizenship (Canada/US) and travel from time to time to the US to visit family and friends. The first comment they made upon return was how much the landscape had changed with everyone working and jobs, jobs, jobs everywhere. That's great for the US economy...and good on the Trump administration for having done such a great job.

baby boomers are retiring daily & there's often no qualified people to replace them

there's a real shortage in many fields plus many younger people don't stay anywhere long

pop in for a year or two, want to make top dollar, and when they don't get it, quit
job hoppers- it's a real problem

The US needed to impose heavy tariffs on China so as to bring them to the negotiation table because, they have been taking advantage of the United States for a very long time.

Apparently Mr. Trump was correct because, there is already a partial agreement between the two countries.

Well if you don't remember a time when it was easy to find a good-paying job with benefits you sure do inadvertently make a heck of a good argument that it's time to change that. Time to implement a living minimum wage. Time to have benefits not tied to the employer but for everybody.

The construction crews I work on are all made up of volunteers. Most of us are not doing construction for a living, it's what we do as part of our ministry. We do all our work in the US, in the Appalachia. More than half the folks on the crew are not Americans, they're coming in from Europe, Australia, to perform this charity for poor Americans who living in squalor despite being fully employed. These folks weren't born with silver spoons in their mouth, they're not Donalds in any way. They just live in countries where the salaries are higher, where folks are entitled to paid time off, and to health benefits.

The one side that just wants to complain is the one Donald is leading, Bob. If you can't see that you may be too entrenched in that side to see beyond it.

He gets the dubious distinction prize of being the who who most discord and strife, bears false witness, and engages in foolish quarrel.
