I'm not sure whether to post this in the Politics area or under Controversial Christian Theology, so I hope an admin can move it if it's not in the right place.

I have an older dear Christian friend who told me that there are many Christians who believe Donald Trump has been raised up by God to save our country. They realize that he is a very flawed person, but they claim he was prayed with, received Christ as his personal savior, and now he is a "baby" Christian. They tell him he is anointed by God to lead our country back to its foundations.

Rick Joyner is one of the people who I believe is leading this movement. He and his wife have a ministry called Morningstar, and he does a lot of eschatological studies, etc. I read some stuff on his website yesterday but it raised more questions than it answered.

I also did a Google search on him, and came up with links to several sites claiming he is a false prophet. The evidence I saw was not overly compelling, but I'm keeping an open mind. Some of what I read mentioned dominionist theology, which I'm not very familiar with.

Rick Joyner says that the release of the videos last Friday is God's way of humbling Trump so he can be more prepared for the role God is preparing him to fill. He compared Trump to Aaron, Moses' brother, who had to be stripped when he began his ministry. Other writers point out that God has often raised up very flawed people to lead His people to freedom.

These people are going to support Trump no matter what, because they believe he is God's anointed. I have always had great respect and admiration for this friend who was telling me some of these things, and I don't know whether to give serious credence to what she is saying or worry that she has fallen under some kind of deception.

Can anyone fill me in on some of the pieces here? Do you know who originally had this revelation? Are there a lot of evangelical Christians who believe this? What is dominion theology and what would it look like if Trump actually IS called to save our nation? What would the dominionists be expecting? Is there any possibility there is some truth in these ideas?

Any insight or feedback is greatly appreciated. And please don't just send me to Google. I've already done some of that and would rather hear from knowledgeable people on these things, if possible. Thanks much.

Cyrus was a rough and crude man in many ways, yet God called him "His Chosen One".

Trump said thirty years ago that if this country needs help, he would step in and run for Presidency. You can view that interview that Oprah did.

Here is the catalyst, the finger in the dike, the last ditch effort, the key, the tip of the iceberg, the last warning, the last call, the most important election for this country and its influence on the world as we know it. The globalists are at the point where they think they have control of the world. This election will seal the deal for them. That is why they will stop at nothing to achieve the absolute complete control via well paid puppet politicians.

It doesn't matter how corrupt they are. It doesn't matter how many die in their wake. It doesn't matter what laws are enforced and which laws are ignored to achieve their goals.

Only one problem... Donald Trump... It is sad to see people caught up in the gossip and miss the bigger picture of what our world will be like in the hands of the globalists.

Did you know "climate change" is a verbiage tool for manipulating. "Climate change" did not cause Syrian war as Clinton declared. The globalist Rothchild wanted to control the world banking system and there are only a few countries left who are not part of his system. Syrian did not bow down and give up their own banking system. Iraq didn't either. Neither did Libya... As they say, follow the money and you will learn the truth. Can't "buy or sell" unless you have the mark. So don't think this is not
what caused all this problems.

We peons are guinea pigs for what lie works. We are being manipulated and most people do not even realize it. Media is under the control of globalists. Pharmaceuticals are under the control of globalists. UN is under the control of globalists. And on and on goes the list of politicians, leaders, and conglomerates of companies who have a global agenda.

They have everything in place, they just need the strongest nation in the world to bow down. They need the military to do their bidding. They need to open borders. They need to establish global trade deals. They need less restrictions on their peddled life killing products. They have a goal of 500,000 global population total via vaccinations, war, "climate controlled" disasters, etc.

Most can not comprehend that YES globalists are that powerful, manipulative, and it is far beyond our comprehension the multi-platformed attack on all who speak out against it.

Why do you think that the Lord gave a very grime view of the final days? The evil in man will reach its absolute in our day. So who will stem the tide, who will protect the people, who will fight for our rights, and who will stand up against this tide of evil?

As far as the evangelists who speak up, I can not speak on their behalf or against what they say, since I have not followed them. I will not vouch for their character references because I do not know them. I am not into killing the messenger. I am more interested in the facts. Sometimes even facts are hard to discern, so I rely on the Word of God to clarify that which is true. If it something that lines up with the Word of God then there is probably a very good reason and by faith I believe it.

I hope that you continue your search for the truth, praying that God leads you in these perilous times. The whirlwind is coming. Be anchored in the Word. Be not surprised at that which is coming upon the World. Be prepared. Be blessed with His Presence and guidance. Time to shed this world's attachments for they will be a believer's downfall. Even if it means forsaking all for Him.

Never heard of Dominion theology until a liberal columnist tried linking Michelle Bachman to the movement.

From what I read about Dominionism is the adherents believe they are called to bring about the Kingdom of God on earth. Meaning through worldly political action and culture change. Like some Mormon sects they believe in an upcoming upheaval of some sort that will then make people embrace Christianity and their church apostles to usher in a time of peace. Once achieved, Christ will return....So is there theory.

I would caution if you try to look up churches claiming to be Dominionist you won't find that term in their statement of faith.:) It is a term leftists mostly use because they see them as a dangerous. Dangerous to their own goals of a one world liberal utopia.

So these churches with what they claim are end times or kingdom ushering in apostles see themselves as facilitators when the time is "right" to basically say "hey Lord you can come back now." Perhaps that was a bit facetious but they are basically saying they know and have a plan to make the world right again aka reestablish man's dominion on earth to make it worthy for Christ to return.

Ok so the above is not orthodox Christian beliefs nor is it credal and definitely not Biblical. I would classify this theological approach as a cult in the manner of Mormonism. I will note there are some tangential similarities to Shia Muslim eschatology of the human worldly element bringing about the endtimes and paradise on earth.

I will note, it has been some time since I looked into this as it peaked my interest during Bachmans campaign in 2012. Frankly her church had no such views but she did have some "dominionist " camp followers if memory serves. So for the panicked media it meant she was one.:)

For Trump? Don't know, first I heard of him closely associated with these churches was from your post. Perhaps it is time to look at this group again.

Judy, do you have a link for your OP so I can check out the claim?

Thanks and God Bless.

Are there a lot of evangelical Christians who believe this?
Judy sorry forgot to address this part. The answer is no. You will find the upwards of 85% or higher Evangelicals do not believe mankind can force the second coming of Jesus Christ as the group you mentioned believes.

Thanks for the thoughtful replies so far. You have certainly given me a lot to ponder!

Visionary speaks of globalization, which I have really not considered much. At first blush, it sounds like conspiracy theories, but I am going to keep an open mind and do more research on this.

Redleghunter, your description of dominion theology sounds like a clear explanation of stuff I've been reading. Thanks. Your point that dominionists don't describe themselves this way is interesting. You asked for a link, and I couldn't find the original one, which was something I saw on Facebook. But maybe this is better anyway, as it does point to the person who apparently first came up with this prophecy:

http://www.charismanews.com/opinion...ising-up-donald-trump-like-cyrus-in-isaiah-45

I am hesitant to think that there could be truth in this. Praying that God will open my eyes if there is. Otherwise, we will see what happens!

Best advice to give your friend would be "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

I agree with this assessment.......
President Trump believes in practical solutions to problems and would tend to see quickly that a Carbon Tax would do little to combat the threat of rising ocean levels whereas the alternative theory by New Mexico biologist and coach Carl Cantrell is win -win -win -win -win for all of us.

"So how is our problem of continental drying causing global warming? It all has to do with vegetation and sunlight. When sun light hits a plant, it causes a process which we call photosynthesis where the energy from the sun light creates oxygen for us to breathe, water for us to drink, and is stored as sugar for plants and animals to use. When the same sun light hits the soil, all of its energy turns into heat and is radiated back into the atmosphere.. ."

"Therefore, the less vegetation you have on the planet, the more sunlight is being turned into heat and the warmer the planet becomes...."

"Just take a look at any satellite picture of the earth showing heat and you will see that our deserts are the warmest spots on the planet by far. More heat is being generated by just one of the top four or five deserts than by all of our cities combined.... "

"The truth is that you can do more to decrease global warming by just reducing the average temperature for the Sahara Desert by one or two degrees than if we humans completely quit using fossil fuels and returned to the cave…."

"So, how would you start working to resolve this problem? Easy, cool the deserts and get some vegetation growing on them as soon as possible. But the method is much more complex than that. You have to use the prevailing trade winds in relation to the deserts to get the best results as quickly as possible and it will be extremely expensive…."

"Then we build desalination plants along the coast near these water sheds and pipe water to the tops or ridges of the water sheds…"

"We need to start working on this as soon as possible because, if the planet reaches a point to where it is warming faster than our technology can possibly stop or reverse this warming trend, then our planet is lost and all life will cease to exist on this planet within a relatively short period of time. We will need to start with the largest and hottest deserts because cooling them will have the greatest benefit in the least time (Global Warming II by biologist Carl Cantrell)."

Democrats want a one world order, through the UN. All the signs are there.
  1. Why would our leaders be concerned with America's best interests when America won't even exist soon if/when these UN plans come to fruition?

  2. How could people who are planning on abandoning America's autonomy and our precious independent nation sovereignty in order to hand America over to the United Nations' One World Government plan be serious about watching out for America's best interests?
The answers to those two questions, of course, is "They aren't" and "They can't." You might not have noticed but United Nation military troops may soon arrive and see action on American soil following the United States’ announcement of support for “a set of principles that give a green light for U.N. peacekeeping troops and police to use force to protect civilians in armed conflicts,” Military Times reports. Executive Order: United Nations allowed to use Force on US Citizens
Did the US just agree to allow UN Foreign Troops to police the streets of the USA?

That is just one example... the inroads are many and the outcome is not good. http://www.icleiusa.org/about-iclei/faqs/faq-iclei-the-united-nations-and-agenda-2

I'm not sure there's any particular revelation here. There are a wide variety of Christians who, for varying reasons, think Trump was placed in office by God. Some because it fulfills some prophecy they've imagined, others more cynically because he pushes a political agenda they support and are using Christian terminology to justify Trump.

I happen to believe that Trump was placed in office by God because all political leaders get their authority from God and are placed in office by him whether they recognize it or not. Some serve as a blessing, others a curse. Trump is just another in a long line of judgements against the United States. Until we as a people turn from the wickedness of this world and come to faith in Christ, we can expect more judgments like Trump and Obama.

I have little time this evening however, if you do a search of Rafael Cruz, Sen. Cruz's father, you will find plenty on the assertion of Dominionism ...looked into this years ago, seems true from what I've read and seen.

Don’t doubt it. I’ve opined a bit more on the movement and history on other threads. Will try to dig it up.
