I think it's astonishing how many of his conservative Christian supporters will defend him as if their very life depended upon it. It doesn't matter what he does or what he says. I've seen his supporters, not just on this site, fiercely insist that he shouldn't be judged for his sins, but these same Christians have absolutely no moral confliction whatsoever judging Democratic politicians for immoral behavior or possible political corruption. Do they not see the hypocrisy in that at all or do they just not care?

I can't think of a single reason why any of their pious moral indignation toward Democratic politicians or toward liberals in general should be taken seriously when they continue to faithfully support Trump and staunchly defend him, despite his continuous unrepentant immoral and unethical behavior.

Seems to me it's the other way around - Donald has relentlessly waged war on the media. He's gone so far as to label them, more than once, as "the enemy of the people", besides decrying them as false, fake, phony, etc.

This week alone Trump's callous incompetence directly lead to innocent lives being stolen. This week alone he stood in front of a rally audience with kids and went on an unhinged obscene rant. He then simulated sex in front of the audience! Then on Saturday as usual he played golf while more innocents were maimed & slaughtered bc of him. Yeah his base is faithful to him.

I agree with the letter too, just as I agreed with this one awhile back: An Open Letter to Trump’s Evangelical Defenders. I don't think the moral reputation of the Republican Party can be restored in the aftermath of Trump unless his supporters publicly renounce him after he leaves office and they show some seriously sincere remorse for ever supporting and defending him in the first place.

I'm sure he will continue to have their faithful and unwavering support as long as he continues to push his false narrative of being pro-life (despite the obvious fact that he supports abortion in some cases) and he continues to push his unkept presidential campaign promise to build a border wall to keep out undocumented immigrants from Mexico and other non-European countries. I believe him now when he said he could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and he wouldn't lose any voters.

A vile video of Trump shooting the media and his political opponents was shown at his resort. It was a fake but the hateful unhinged intent behind it was real. This is the sort of attitude Trump endorses.

A lot of bullies pretend to be victims bc ppl call them out for their bullying.

I heard about the video and it has already been excused as a parody by one of his supporters and there was another feeble attempt to deflect to Democrats and dismiss the video again. I just chalk it up as another reason to continue distancing myself from the Republican Party and to never vote for a Republican who supported Trump after he's out of office or possibly never vote Republican again.

Yet the same ppl who excuse that as a parody & turn around to mock those who object it are the types to totally get enraged over non-violent memes and jokes they think "victimize" them for calling them out on their behaviour.

And the same people who excuse that video as a parody seem to find a lot of joy in mocking liberal politicians, like Elizabeth Warren, and they also like to point a judgmental finger at liberal politicians for immoral and unethical behavior, despite the fact that they support and defend Donald Trump.

Oh my golly miss molly, Bob. For a fellow pretty much out of the race he's beating the britches off of Donald in what had been a key state for him back in 2016. Fox News Poll: Biden bests Trump by nine points in Wisconsin

Joe Biden bests Trump by 9 points (48-39 percent) and has the only lead outside the poll’s margin of error. Bernie Sanders is up by 5 over Trump (45-40) and Elizabeth Warren has a 4-point edge (45-41). Warren would keep most of it broken. Bernie is far from out of the race - he's a top 2 contender and he's back stronger than before. He's also always shown to be beating Trump in polls, by a lot, much more than the margin of error of the polls. He will beat Trump in a landslide! He represents the most Christian values of any candidate, by far.

Noting that Donald has called for action against a Congressman who made an unflattering "parody" summary of his call with the Ukraine president, this seems like a pretty hypocritical excuse.
