Um hello... May i ask about the ramifications of abandoning God? Like what would happen if i replaced Jesus with a guy i wanted and liked, and started to idolize him and depend on him instead of on Jesus?

Let me ask you this: What do YOU think would happen?

Then you would have an American style election.

Why can’t you idolize and depend on more than one thing...?

That is certainly possible.

Yahuweh says what happens if anyone even trusts in any flesh though, or has any other god/ or has an idol or continues in idolatry....

It is not good for the soul.

what would happen if i replaced Jesus with a guy i wanted and liked,
First, if you have shared with Jesus, you can compare Him with some guy and get some idea and feeling of how it would be to be only with that guy, but not with Jesus in His love and "rest for your souls." (in Matthew 11:28-30)

If you have really been with Jesus, my opinion is you could get a little sick inside yourself, just thinking about how it would be with him and not Jesus. Because Jesus in His love does so more and better with us, than any charmer can.

And would the guy, if he really cares for you, go along with this????

When I get more interested in some woman, than in Jesus, I can get homesick. Because, I would say, I have had experience in Jesus love. And the love which gets me mainly interested in a woman is . . . even degrading in me, by comparison . . . in inferior love. And in self-seeking love and idolizing love we are in weakness so we can give in to fear and loneliness and boredom and fighting and arguing and being bossed by drives for pleasure of what does not love us.

And in case the guy wants to use you and has been putting on a charm act > you could find out how he handles you when you at any time don't go along with him. This can vary. There are charmers who will just charm you more, others can get you walking on eggshells > after first acting like you are the greatest person ever and you are so good together, but then a little at a time, when they don't get something they want, they hold all that great stuff "hostage", threatening you will lose it all if you don't give in on some little thing they want. But they keep taking more and more of the little things, until even nothing of what they gave at first is there, anymore.

And the consequence will be in you. My opinion is God knows that circumstantial consequences can not change how you really are as a person. So, He might not bring special outward consequences, but how you become inside yourself will be there for you.

Ramifications?

The results of/the price of/ sin is death.

More ? < shrugs > ? What comes after death ? Destruction OR Eternal Life with Jesus.

Then your "sinful man" would become your master (your god) and of course no salvation in or through sinful man.

There is a perfect scripture for this.
"Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Mathew 10:37

um why no salvation in or through sinful man?

Only through Jesus can one be saved ... period.

John 14:6
New International Version
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
