....no surprise here....the very office where Giuliani worked in the 1980's is now investigating him.

Curiously, Giuliani's defense is he was acting on behalf of the President.

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan are investigating whether President Trump’s personal lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani broke lobbying laws in his dealings in Ukraine, according to two people familiar with the inquiry.

The investigators are examining Mr. Giuliani’s efforts to undermine the American ambassador to Ukraine, Marie L. Yovanovitch, one of the people said. She was recalled in the spring as part of Mr. Trump’s broader campaign to pressure Ukraine into helping his political prospects.

The investigation into Mr. Giuliani is tied to the case against two of his associates who were arrested this week on campaign finance-related charges, the people familiar with the inquiry said. The associates were charged with funneling illegal contributions to a congressman whose help they sought in removing Ms. Yovanovitch.

Trump is going to claim he barely knew Rudy. Make it out like they just passed each other on the street one day but that was it. Lol.
Someone should really look into how well he knew Hilary Clinton. Didn't they both work in New York?
Suspicious. ;)

Yikes. Imagine going from "America's Mayor" to Federal Prisoner #3345278 in under 20 years. While I don't really like Rudy (especially these days) it would be sad if he actually got indicted and convicted for something. Hard to see someone fall so far.

As much as I want to see Trump brought low it seems that a LOT of people around him are going to prison or getting seriously investigated and after a while it seems that a lot of bad stuff has been smeared around covering a lot of swamp creatures.

And to think we were sold Trump because he was going to "clean up the swamp". Why did people vote for this clown-car full of corruptocrats?

I'm young so the only Rudy I've ever known about is the one who makes you cringe. I'm shocked he ever had that much respect but I mean time changes everything I guess? Didn't that old comedian who used to have that super family friendly show in the 80s be known as "America's Dad?" But now he's in prison! Bc of raping women! Ppl sometimes reveal themselves to be way different than they seemed!

Ok this is one of my favourite phrases I've read in a while.

Trump has always managed to have others take the hit for his transgressions. As for Rudy, he knew exactly what he was getting into when he signed up. He had other choices as do we all.

Rudy will confess to being the mastermind behind everything, and then (as previously arranged) he'll be pardoned after Congress throws the book at him.

...maybe...maybe not. It all depends on how it will reflect on Trump.

Indeed. Trump has shown what happens to a LOT of people who are presented access to high levels of power. They seem to sell their souls quite quickly.

I lived in NYC during Giuliani's rise from DA (famous for perp walking Wall Street guys, who may or may not have later been convicted) to mayor. Although I am not a fan, he did behave admirably in two areas - first, he was personally clean of graft and money-grubbing (his vice was power, not money) and second, he behaved very well in the year of 9/11 - calm, reassuring and, most of all, present.

I kinda feel like me and Rudy aged in opposite directions bc back in the 2000s I was born then a baby, then a toddler, so on, then grew up to now. I've become more calm, reassuring (when needed), present. It sounds like Rudy was good at being an adult back then but not so much now. He has these big fits and gets all red in the face. It's impossible to reason w him sometimes. He's irrational a lot. He screeches. He's incoherent. He lies. He acts like he's in need of a pacifier and a nice long nap.

One of the things that sadden me the most is the downfall of Rudy Guliani. He took on the Five Families and won. He helped clean up large chunks of NYC and a lot of people credit him with helping keep it from falling apart after 9/11. Now he's an angry old man who either is a compulsive liar or is starting to lose his mental grip.

That def makes it sadder. He completely ruined his reputation. Had he not decided to jump in the swamp he would have been remembered for his leadership back then.

I just know him as the Rudy he is now. o_O
