...meanwhile in Israel:

The Kurds are viewed here as long-standing allies of Israel, a reliable, moderate pro-Western group that has fought on Israel’s side in multiple conflicts, most recently in the battle against Islamic State militants in Syria. Many Jews here express a kinship with the Kurds, whom they view as a stateless ethnic group persecuted by their common foes, including Iran, Syria and Turkey.

Politicians from several parties condemned Turkey’s incursion and called for Israel to help the Kurds. A group of 50 reserve combat officers in the Israeli military signed an open letter to Netanyahu beseeching him to “do everything possible to prevent a massacre of the Kurdish people.”

I never said that I support everything that goes on here.
Your hatred of America is noted. If you don't like it, LEAVE. What's stopping you???

I am pro-life, pro traditional family, and am against the unfair business practices. But you notice that I am not leaving either. At the same time I did my time in the military as did my 3 brothers during a very unpopular war. My dad in WWII, both grandfathers in WW1, my uncle in Korea and VN. At least 5 great grandfathers where in the civil war fighting for the freedom millions. Over a dozen "patriots" fought in the revolutionary war from the Lexington Alarm through the the War of 1812. My family has shed blood sweat and tears building and fighting for this nation for over 400 years. We founded towns and cut farms and mines out of nothing. We paid our dues and have contributed more than most. That, not good intentions and good feelings are what make you a patriot. Complaining just makes you part of the problem.
You do not have to leave the country to fee and forsake the principles of our nation.
You have a lot of pride, obviously. Lots and lots and lots of pride. Not surprised.

No.

Of course I know. I've argued against people on CF who claim it wasn't a real genocide. But that's irrelevant. You made up some false news. You should remember the story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf.
What false news? The Turks aren't launching a campaign to target ethnic and religious groups?

You say you know but it's clear you don't. Clearly you're a catechumen who doesn't even understand your own Church's ethnic background. Go to your church and tell them the Turks are not committing genocide and let the priest laugh in your face. What a joke.

So what do you suggest as an alternative? Do you think Hillary, Biden, or any other Dem or Repub would be saints? I know none of them are saints with halos. But what is the alternative?
You are the one who claimed he's doing everything exactly that you want him to do. So you want him to use profanity and take the Lord's name in vain. That's all I'm pointing out.

Show me where Hillary, Biden, or any other Dem or Repug has done the same. I'm sure you can't. That makes them all alternatives at least on that issue.

But again, you said he's doing exactly what you want so you are supporting that blasphemy and sin. You surely seem proud of it, too. Enjoy your president's blaspheming - I know that I and other Christians absolutely hate it though.

After a while those complaints are meaningless and nobody hears them any more.
Drawing attention to the Kurds being betrayed by your country’s leader is meaningless?

A bold take.

Congress has the power to declare war. If you want to send thousands of troops to war in Syria, call your congressman and demand they declare war on _somebody_.
"The Constitution grants Congress the sole power to declare war. "
Blame Trump for something it is not within his power to do?
Demand the Dems in congress do their job.
Oh wait. They are obsessed with other absurd matters. Cannot be bothered with doing their job. Just neglect their job and then blame Trump.
That is rich.
You still don't get it. It's about a moral obligation our nation has to clean up the filthy mess we created when we decided to screw things up in the middle east over and over and over. It's about our moral obligation as a nation to help prevent killing after we've done the killing ourselves of innocent men, women, children, sick and elderly.

You seem to want to just run and hide your eyes and now, after the fact, you want to cry "NO! NOT OUR PROBLEM! LEAVE US ALONE!!!" Damage is done.

If you go out there and smash your car into a storefront and kill and injure a few people you can't just run and hide and say "NOT MY PROBLEM!!!" People will come after you for restitution and justice. You have a moral obligation to be responsible for your reckless and harmful actions.

America is not above this morality. Of all people, Christians know and understand this. I can't see how a person can claim to be a Christian yet absolve America of its sin. I have to seriously doubt someone who claims to be a Christian yet thinks America has the right to kill and harm with no moral obligation to own up to it.

Like most Americans and especially almost all Trump supporters you have no sense of morality or responsibility. You want to take and take and take and have no responsibility.

I have a limited knowledge of the situation but I wonder why no one speaks about Turkey's problems - the 3.6 million Syrian refugees in Turkey, and a border with Kurds who are allied with Kurdish terrorists within Turkey's borders.
You've answered your own question - your wonder is a result of the fact that you admittedly have a LIMITED knowledge (i.e. incomplete and inaccurate knowledge) of the situation.

Learn more about it and you won't have to wonder and guess.

Your affiliation indicates why you would be anti-Turkey and see it as some sort of evil nation, but I doubt the situation is a simple as that.
Why do you say that? Answer honestly - I'm used to racism from Australians like you, I understand.

And as for your blind doubt, it carries little to no weight since it's just a blind doubt based on your extremely limited knowledge of the situation. I can doubt all sorts of things just because I want to doubt them. I can doubt the holocaust happened, I can doubt that Australia exists because I've never been there, I can doubt that Turk sympathizers are humans with feelings... But what good is doubt when it's just for the sake of doubting and not rooted in any kind of logic or reason? Worthless.

While killing of Christians is to be lamented, so is the killing of any person.
No kidding. Who has said or suggested otherwise?

Trouble is, Turkey has a track record of claiming they're creating "safe-places" then they ethnic cleanse the areas.

They did it in 1974 in Cyprus, claimed it was a "safe area" for Turkish Cypriots, using an attempted coup as an excuse, but then took over a third of Cyprus and ethnically cleansed the Greek Cypriots living there.

As for Turkey being an "evil nation", while Erdogan and his government are Islamist bigots in suits and have popular support from sections of society, Turkey also has plenty of open minded people, which seems more open and natural than other Muslim nations where such people are more quiet and underground. Out of all the Muslims I've met, more open minded Turks and others such as Albanians (my mother is Kosovan Albanian) are those who genuinely see Christians as equal and should have the same rights, of course there is still the religious hardliners in Turkey who still believe in Islamic supremacy though.

You're obviously correct about Turkey's history of ethnic cleansing which goes well beyond Cyprus and deep into history.

As for Turks being open minded for Muslims, that's somewhat true, but the problem is that most of them are so nationalistic that they become closed-minded in regards to Turkey's horrible record on human rights and it negates their open-mindedness. They are less closed-minded due to Islam and more closed-minded because they ultra-nationalistic. That's how they are.

You will find that muslims are much more open-minded from Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt. Even Iranians are much more open-minded as muslims, they just are under an Islamic regime which they can't get out from under.

How about relaxing your laws allowing U.S. citizens to renounce their citizenship. We should be able to walk into an embassy, sign a paper, and it's done.

Until that time, quit complaining.

I'll go tell them that, if you provide the source or evidence I previously asked for. I don't want to look foolish in case you're wrong. Also, my priest's ethnicity is English.

Agreed. And Turkey is an expert at that form of clean up. As another expert once said, “Wer redet heute noch von der Vernichtung der Armenier?” (Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?)

God speed President Erdoğan and may no one interfere with the solution to your Armenian problem.

Those open minded Turks are currently getting arrested for speaking out against the invasion.

This is good. Speaking out against your leaders is treason and should be silenced.

What Turkey is doing now is what the US has been doing for years: violating Syria's borders. The irony that the Kurds are facing is that after years of collaborating with one foreign aggression, they now face the brunt of another.

Videos posted on social media showing at least one execution-style killing have called into question the discipline of the soldiers engaged in Turkey’s near week-long effort to seize territory controlled by Kurds in northeastern Syria.

U.S. Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper, speaking on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” noted that the videos could not be independently confirmed. But, he said, if true, “they would be war crimes.”
