You are right. Those who deny Him aren't Christians whether they claim they are or not.
"But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
Rev. 21:8
The mantra is this "LOVE Christ and keep the commandments."There is a difference between learning your bible verses for Sabbath School and being indoctrinated with the use of a mantra---JS is right, Mormonism is right, constantly, day after day. That is not love. That is bending the mind, it is dictatorship. It is essentially, force of a young mind.
The mantra is this "LOVE Christ and keep the commandments."
It is good over evil. No, in your church "keep the commanments" would be "keep the LDS commandments."
The mantra is this "LOVE Christ and keep the commandments."
I don't think folks like 'He is the way' realizes just how hypocritically double talk it looks when he is quoting the summary of the Law of Moses as being relevant:No---It is JS is a prophet of God and Mormonism is right.
Joseph Smith was a prophet and The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints is indeed Christ's church. We believe Christ's sayings:No---It is JS is a prophet of God and Mormonism is right.
(New Testament | John 14:15)I don't think folks like 'He is the way' realizes just how hypocritically double talk it looks when he is quoting the summary of the Law of Moses as being relevant:
then to agree with when stated elsewhere: "we live in the NT not the OT. We live under the Law of Christ (Galatians 6:2) not under the Law of Moses."
- (Old Testament | Ecclesiastes 12:13 - 14)
Mostly the same commandments as Jesus taught in the NT. If we had all of Jesus's words, even those that he taught his apostles after his resurrection, you would find that our commandments and his commandments would be exactly the same. No, in your church "keep the commanments" would be "keep the LDS commandments."
It is good over evil.
(Old Testament | Ecclesiastes 12:13 - 14)
13 ¶ Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Mostly the same commandments as Jesus taught in the NT. If we had all of Jesus's words, even those that he taught his apostles after his resurrection, you would find that our commandments and his commandments would be exactly the same.
Just a little example: Do you live his commandment to forgive?
Matthew 6:14-15 King James Version (KJV)
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
NOTICE: The penalty for not forgiving? Do you live this simple commandment? It is part of our commandments.
(New Testament | John 14:15)
15 ¶ If ye love me, keep my commandments.
I applaud the Mormons on here for vigorously defending their beliefs. I briefly attended a few LDS services, but I do not accept the Book of Mormon.
However the Mormons I encountered were good, honest, hardworking people. I would like to think Jesus' grace will be extended to them.
Joseph Smith was a prophet and The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints is indeed Christ's church. We believe Christ's sayings:
(New Testament | Luke 6:22 - 38)
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
27 ¶ But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
(New Testament | Luke 6:46 - 47)
46 ¶ And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
Neither the truth nor The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints is evil.It is Mormonism over truth.
How do you know what He said? Jesus did say:He never said if you love me---you must be married in a Mormon temple. He never said if you love me, you must believe in Joseph Smith, He never said you must believe that I have a grandfather who was once human and became god. He never said if you love me you must believe that if Satan had not caused Adam and Eve to fall, children would not have been possible.
However, many people do not obey Jesus Christ or keep His commandments.1. We don't hate you.
2. We obey Christ and reject Joseph Smith.
How do you know what He said? Jesus did say:
(New Testament | Matthew 16:19)
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
He also said:
(New Testament | Luke 16:29 - 31)
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
And we have this from God.:
(Pearl of Great Price | Moses 5:6 - 11)
6 And after many days an angel of the Lord appeared unto Adam, saying: Why dost thou offer sacrifices unto the Lord? And Adam said unto him: I know not, save the Lord commanded me.
7 And then the angel spake, saying: This thing is a similitude of the sacrifice of the Only Begotten of the Father, which is full of grace and truth.
8 Wherefore, thou shalt do all that thou doest in the name of the Son, and thou shalt repent and call upon God in the name of the Son forevermore.
9 And in that day the Holy Ghost fell upon Adam, which beareth record of the Father and the Son, saying: I am the Only Begotten of the Father from the beginning, henceforth and forever, that as thou hast fallen thou mayest be redeemed, and all mankind, even as many as will.
10 And in that day Adam blessed God and was filled, and began to prophesy concerning all the families of the earth, saying: Blessed be the name of God, for because of my transgression my eyes are opened, and in this life I shall have joy, and again in the flesh I shall see God.
11 And Eve, his wife, heard all these things and was glad, saying: Were it not for our transgression we never should have had seed, and never should have known good and evil, and the joy of our redemption, and the eternal life which God giveth unto all the obedient.
