If they're human beings, we can at least give them a check-up and a flu shot before deporting them...
You mean if we deport them without them NEEDING any medical treatment.

Well, that's what the check-up is for... if they're healthy, then by definition, they don't NEED any medical treatment.

And of course, if we don't lock them in cages for months at a time with little food little water, and not enough basics to go around, chances are they won't NEED any medical treatment either.

And surely there's nothing terribly wrong with a bottle of water and a sandwich on the bus ride back across the border, and a courteous "Nothing personal, amigo... but better luck next time."

There were no border laws at the time.

I'm pretty certain that the people the Israelites slaughtered had some sort of border laws... perhaps not as extensive as modern ones, but still, a difference between "citizen" and "non-citizen."

You don't seriously think that illegals only ever try crossing the border once and then give up, do you?

"Well, golly gee whiz, I got caught and dumped in Tijuana... I guess I'd better start walking back to Honduras..."

I know that they do not cross just once, but not all people are caught crossing the border.

Then you know that the ones we do catch are very likely to try again...

Nope

My understanding is for a Christian Gods law is supposed to exceed that of secular authorities. Is that not the case?
Not exactly. Part of "God's law" for a Christian is to submit to their governing authorities (see Romans 13, 1 Peter 2), no matter how good or bad those authorities are. However, if we are personally asked to do something that is in direct disobedience to God's word, we can disobey knowing that God has our back whatever the fall out may be (see Daniel chapters 3 and 6).

Thank you. Then I wonder what the thrust of your question was? Certainly Christians have had no qualms about trying to limit abortion and cite their religion as a motivation for them. Why would treating immigrants with health issues be different?

The USA is not a theocracy, nor is it ruled by the Bible. It is nonsensical to hold the government to a Christian standard. Our government is not Christian, nor can it be. It cannot accept Christ as Lord and Savior. So, throwing out Bible verses about feeding the hungry and such or declaring our government is acting in an un-Christian way is foolishness. Those mandates are for individuals who call themselves Christians.

Whom was talking about the government? We are talking about Christians and their support of Government policies.

Same with people who haven't worked enough quarters to subsidize the money we're spending for their health insurance.

Oh, and kids. And non-working spouses.

Owed nothing. All of them. Being born here isn't enough - no freeloaders.

You seem to be saying that there's no difference between the people you share a culture and society and nation with....and just anyone from anywhere.

Who is a proponent of open borders? Please be specific and provide supporting evidence.

Politicians from both parties for some of the same reasons. Both think they can get the votes from the illegals (for different reasons) and both want cheaper labor for their big campaign contributors. I think that pretty much covers it unless you want to insinuate politicians are as pure as the driven snow?
