has anyone noticed an apostasy trend lately?

Hey guys,

So, it first occurred to me with the famous worship leaders abandoning the faith, but is this something you guys are seeing more than usual as of late? Christians leaving? I'm just curious. I also have had to battle with my faith these past few months (though, I've no intention to go anywhere, I've been tempted awfully).

And if this isn't all in my head, what on earth could the enemy be up to in all this? Welp, I don't know. Maybe, it is my imagination. But my advice to anyone struggling would absolutely be to hold fast to the faith relentlessly, no matter what. It is trustworthy and true.

My question is just, has anyone else noticed this? Thanks.

God bless,
Ashley

I have not noticed anything. We all have to battle from time to time, with trials and temptations. As the bible says:

1Pe 4:12-13 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

I couldn't find any evidence of famous leaders leaving the faith
but with the tidal wave of sex scandals, I'd expect to see more of
them running like scared little rabbits.

Not that they are automatically guilty. If people are in leadership
positions who are not with the Holy Spirit...then wave goodbye to them
with your blessing.

The more things change the more they stay the same. Historically Christianity isn't about one big content family singing kumbaya in unison. There's been issues with people happening internally from the start and you see it written in the NT. Jude 1:4, Paul's warning in Acts of the Apostles 20:30. We just get to experience it for the first time, this is something to contemplate.

As each new generation progresses and society evolves with change, there are new brands of scandals, apostasy and heresies knocking on the doors of Christianity. This is nothing new.

Yes, Ashley, I've noticed. But it's been going on for hundreds of years in increasing measures in the World, so it's nothing new. All that's really 'new' is that there's just more of it today and it's becoming "mainstreamed" among the masses rather than being something proposed merely among this or that upstart, academically elite philosopher or other similar leading personage.

Think Thomas Paine, here. Of course, one could always go earlier than him, too.

Fortunately, all this means is that we have more reason to see that the Bible is true, especially since we were told ahead of time by Jesus and His Apostles (and prophets before that) to expect all of this. So, instead of being worried about it, we just need to remain aware of it.........and make sure we fasten our spiritual safety belts as we move forward into a ever questionable future.

Peace.

Technology bringing to us news from close and far away tends to give impressions about things that realistically are not all the different today than they were 200 years ago. Apostasy has been going on since the fall of man. The things spoken of in Revelation and other places give the impression that the "turning away" will be more of a cataclysmic event over a period of days or hours, not what's been going on since man has walked this earth.

So, refraining from being mathematically challenged by being so easily fooled by the volume of news flowing our way through mass media can help to balance it all out so that you will not be so fooled when the flood does sweep through the world.
