Nobody is so tired that they won’t notice a mat that color . I doubt if it’s photoshopped as the flower colors are accurate

All the evidence was against her. As someone said earlier, she should have received the death penalty. Life for life as it says in the book.

The DP is sub-Christian.

"And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man. Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image" (Genesis 9:5-6).

The death penalty (in case of murder) is not only biblical, but commanded. There is no negotiation in this passage, and God justifies and gives the reason for it on the basis of our creation. It deserves the highest form of punishment.

"Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image."
It should be obvious that this is impossible to follow. But this is what "the living God instituted."

Perhaps you shouldn't blame your bloodthirst on a higher instance that is very reluctant to justify their "commands" when it counts.

"Ms. Guyger had worked 40 hours over the previous four days, including a 13.5-hour shift on the day of the shooting."

^ this should have been emphasized
the fact that the apts were exactly over each other, shows she went the correct no. of steps (just on wrong floor)
He had a red welcome mat. She did not. He had some kind of table by the door, she did not.
Good thing that was emphasized.
working 13.5 hrs shift- if anything her job is just as responsible
people are not meant to work that long & because of being tired, she entered wrong apt
And shot the guy in his own apartment.
a man was in what she thought was HER apt
Apparently, she had a history of sharing aggressive memes on her instagram in which killing people joked about, and had some racist text messages. And apparently had had some arguments with the guy she killed in the past about loud music or something.
any man in one's apt would make a woman fear for her life
But it was HIS apartment, not hers.
it is tragic what happened but believe it was an accident
People pay for 'accidents' all the time in our justice system. Especially when they result in an innocent person's death.
why would she PLAN to go kill someone after working a 13.5 hr day ??
Many first responders work 12 or 24 hour shifts. When I was in the military, we would sometimes pull 24 hour guard shifts. One time, I was pulling such a shift when my unit was put on alert, and since I was on duty, I had to remain on duty until the alert was over, some 10 hours later - a 32 hour 'day.'
But when my shift was finally over, I knew where my room in the barracks was.

What, exactly, do you think should have happened?

That she should have gotten away with it with no punishment at all?

Isn't there enough of that going around?

Great, so we can convict a female cop. Now, can we convict a man in the fraternal order for the same crime?
I watched a few minutes of one of the 'expert witnesses' - a Texas Ranger, testifying that what she did was justified. Couldn't watch more than 2 minutes. Sickening how they circle the wagons.

I thought people are allowed to defend themselves in their own home
When they are in their own home, yes.
she thought she was in her apt - period
So she should get free pass... Sure, sounds great.
Hmmmm....

Maybe I will... 'accidentally'... go into the home of a person that I don't like that lives next door... and KILL that person...

Gee, just a mistake..

Good thing the jury didn't buy that garbage.

Remember when the cops busted into the wrong house looking for a suspect and just killed a guy? Yeah.. 'castle doctrine' was irrelevant. Another citizen executed by 'fearing for their lives' cops that had raided the wrong house.

They got off, of course. Just a mistake.

"I drove home very tired the other day and ran over a family..." that's an accident. And guess what, you'll still go to prison for that. When you accidentally break into someone's home and shoot them with intent to kill, then after recognizing your mistake you do not render first aid and CPR immediately, you've committed murder. Her uniform was clean because she didn't attempt to help the man she just shot. And that is why this verdict was correct. Being a police officer does not give you license to kill freely; unfortunately, too many believe that and think Botham Jean's death was okay and acceptable.
Sickening how cops initially sought to dig up dirt on the guy. Surprised they didn't try to plant a weapon on him.

Mohamed Noor, last June.
Yes - and here is how he responded to his guilty verdict:

Noor spoke in court to apologize to the family of Ruszczyk, saying he will think of her every day.

"I've thought and prayed about this for two years, since the time I took the life of Justine Ruszczyk," Noor said before sentencing, according to CNN affiliate WCCO. "I've also been thinking about all the other lives that have been changed and continue to be changed after this event. None of the families will ever be the same again."
Noor said he took pride in being a police officer, WCCO reported.
"Taking a life so tragically goes against all of that. I've lived with this and will continue to live with this. It is my burden. I wish I could relieve that burden others feel of the (loss) I've caused," Noor said. "I will think of Miss Ruszczyk and her family forever."

Not reasonably.
Yup.

Even if they had I don't see how it would have changed the situation in the officers favor. An armed response to unauthorized aggressive entrants to your house is perfectly reasonable.

. IMHO cops are told that they have to warn before they use deadly force and they’re specifically trained to be observant. She obviously didn’t do that . Walking into the wrong apartment door is understandable . I’ve done it when over tired. But you see right away that, hey that’s not my furniture or wall paint , or hey my key doesn’t fit . IMHO she got charged with murder because she walked in and just started blasting .

She did apparently call a warning, but, being in his own home, the man she shot walked towards her. She was in the middle of a phone call when she went to open the door, and somehow missed the number on the door and the red welcome mat infront of it.

Agreed - but that is what they do (they being either other cops or those with unquestioning loyalty to them). Like when, while reporting on the Texas pool party at which a cop body slammed a bikini-clad teenager after white neighbors called 911 because a bunch of black folks were in the pool, Megyn Kelly says "she was no angel"....

I am not anti-cop, I understand that, like in any profession, the majority are honest, hard working folks. It does seem, however, that when a bad cop does bad things (or an otherwise good cop screws the pooch), the wagons circle a bit too quickly and too tightly. A teacher does something crazy like has sex with a student and they are gone, reputation ruined, no questions asked. A cop shoots someone because they 'feared for their life' in questionable circumstances, and out come the 'blue lives matter' crowd. It gets old. They should be held to HIGHER expectations, not lower.
