Should we feel sorry for Vice-President Pence?

I suppose that he had no idea when he accepted Trump's offer that the Administration could find itself in an impeachment mess. Still, there were warning signs during the 2016 campaign, based upon any number of very unusual comments, that things might be more than a little different. What think ye?

Indeed -- I've long held the (only half joking) idea that Pence has been the "Deep State" mastermind behind Donald's troubles from Day One. After all, who has the most to gain if Donald is led out of the Whitehouse in handcuffs, a straitjacket, or a pine box?

Surely Pence knew he never had a snowball's chance of getting elected president... and Donald being, well... Donald, how hard could it be to trigger him to self-destruct?

It's gotten to the point where the only reason I don't think it was Pence is that he'd have done it by now...

No, not really. Feel sorry for any 'democrats' who believe abortion should be allowed. They have turned a mother's womb into a deadly place. They will answer to God on the great day of judgement.
I think I need to revise my notion of any thread being two degrees separation from "But ABORTION!" down to one degree of separation. If that.

That's a difficult question. No doubt Pence did not anticipate the depth or persistence of the opposition's commitment to overturning the 2016 election by any means necessary. But still, it is not as though Vice-Presidents have had easy careers, safely assigned to ribbon-cutting duties.

Look at what they did to Dan Quayle who had been a well-regarded US Senator...or even Richard Nixon while he was Vice-President. They were actually the primary targets, not just second to the President.

Dan Quayle made himself look stooopid. Being a target comes with the job, regardless of party. This incessant crybaby act from Republicans is really pathetic.

I think anyone who paid even the slightest bit of attention to Donald should have pegged his eventual derailment as nigh-inevitable... that it would result in "an impeachment mess" was always in the cards... a smart man would've seen it coming.

Only if it is, in fact, an "act." Some folks freak when they don't get the adoration they think they're entitled to.

Sadly, those who have been aborted can't see any degrees of separation, they'll never see the light.

If what Christians claims happens to young children when they die is true they skipped the suffering and went right to eternal bliss. Unless you hold some notion of them being damned?

Because, having never been brought to Jesus, they're eternally tormented in the dark depths of Hell?

It's hard to imagine that a man (Pence) with such a strict moral code would take up the offer to stand beside a man (Trump) with absolutely no moral code. I guess power and politics meant more to Pence than morality, so no, I can't feel sorry for him.
I don't feel sorry for him, but I don't know what his thoughts or motives were for doing it.

Not in the slightest. He can resign at any time if he doesn’t like where things are going with this administration.
That would be a very irresponsible thing to do. It would be political suicide.

Heaven and Hell aside I think we should all object to murder.

I don't support abortion myself as a liberal Christian, but I do think that many conservatives within the pro-life movement are morally inconsistent when it comes to actually being pro-life, as demonstrated in this article: Catholic nun on ‘pro-life’ Republicans: ‘They’re not pro-life, they’re pro-birth’.
Eh, using ones stance on abortion and the corresponding short hand for it ,pro-life/choice, as an all defending ideology is sloppy thinking. To me it only becomes an issue when one makes sweeping pronouncements, all life is sacred, only god gets to make these choices, that would cause one to have to hold other positions outside of just their support or opposition to abortion.
