Then again, perhaps you need to increase your supply of commas and full stops. It appears your keyboard has run out of both. ;)

Google has a left wing bias, so we're going to use right wing search engines like SearchConservative and 4Conservatives to fight the bias and get the real news!

I'm not sure that's how that works...

It's a variant of the "you label my freedom fighters as terrorists, but your freedom fighters are terrorists".

I search for "US Ukraine mutal legal" and my number one result was the Washington Examiner. The number 2 was Congress. I'm not seeing the supposed liberal bias.
Well, the House does have a slight Democratic majority, and what good conservative wants to have a computer remind them of that fact? Obvious bias, I tell ya!

Well, I’m happy to see you using unbiased search engines like SearchConservative.com. :ebil:

That site is so unbiased it doesn't return anything at all. Now that's what I call balance.

I didn't say there was, only that other search engines got me the desired result immediately. Google didn't. Having alternatives at one's disposal is always good. Some day they might be useful.

I normally use Bing as an alternative when Google results seem lacking, but was especially impressed today with Duckduckgo's results. I'll start using Duckduckgo a little more and see how that works out. It supposedly offers better privacy and, if nothing else, using Duckduckgo might keep a penny or two away from Google when I go searching.
Google regrets being unable to assist with your confirmation bias.

Like I mentioned in my previous comment, Google has been specifically cracking down on sources that peddle alt-medicine garbage (they even acknowledged that with regards to their May 2019 algorithm update)

(for instance, any site that promotes or has any connection with anti-vaxx stuff, gets bumped down)

With many of the far-right sources out there, they tend to spend a lot of time in the conspiracy realm, and there's a high level of overlap between conspiracies about globalism and conspiracies about "big pharma" as sources that talk about one often talk about the other, so it's possible some of these far-right sources took a hit as a result of that as well, as in numerous countries thus far, there seems to be a connection between anti-vaxxer'ism and right-wing populism.

Rightwing populists ride wave of mistrust of vaccine science

The influence of political ideology and trust on willingness to vaccinate

So, for instance, if you look on far-right sources like TheFreeBeacon and RedState, there are numerous articles that are clearly trying to fuel doubt about vaccines.

Articles with titles like "New Reports confirming fears about vaccine's link to autism", "Vaccination programs may be first step toward martial law", and several other articles attempting to link MMR vaccines to neurological conditions. So I can easily see why the algorithm update would be pushing them toward the bottom. PJMedia even has a few articles that, while not directly trying to link them to any sort of disease, clearly is trying to hammer the point home that vaccination programs are some sort of "police state tactic". Then you have some sites like the Blaze, that while they don't tend to discuss the science behind it directly, they take a very negative tone toward many of the stories of public school nixing the "religious" exemptions to vaccines that were once in place...sort of trying to convey the idea that pro-vaccination position is "an attack on religious freedom".

As Google continues its politically biased crusade against all things not left of center, I find myself resorting to alternative search engines more frequently. This morning it was the search for the legal treaty between the United States and Ukraine which took me to alternative search engines. Google couldn't or wouldn't provide the result I already knew about. Changing to Bing using the same search terms immediately brought up useful results though. DuckDuckGo did so as well.

Just curious to hear from others who may have had issues with Google searches.

Like others here, I also performed the search on google using your words (“legal treaty u.s. Ukraine”) and got the doc you were looking for and the next article was from a conservative website. Have you tried again? I hope you will update your OP, as it appears that the example you used was incorrect.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for expressing a theory. Though I doubt that's the basis for Google's results let's just suppose, for the sake of argument, that it is. Similar craziness exists with many left-wing publications as well. There's outright advocacy for communism, there are crazy environmental theories all over the place in left-wing publications, there are any number of conspiracy theories regarding Donald Trump and then, perhaps worst of all, anti-semitic rants show up frequently throughout left-wing publications.

Given that all the crazy stuff doesn't seem to hurt left-wing publication rankings it appears there's something more at work. It's not too hard to guess what really. Google has been pretty open about opposing conservatism and Donald Trump ... to the point of wanting to make sure Trump doesn't get re-elected.

I would be surprised if there was much actual antisemitism. Criticism of Israel I would expect and not regard as extreme. Likewise, what constitutes "outright advocacy for communism" and "crazy environmental theories" is subject to interpretation. If the opinions of those subjects held by right-wingers in this forum are any indication, what is actually presented may be quite mild and ordinary.

Is there a particular left wing source you're referring to, I'd be happy to research it?

As noted, right wing sources that don't delve into alternative medicine junk science don't seem to be losing anything off of their Google visibility score (Breitbart, Limbaugh, and DailyWire have all seen higher visibility scores since the May algorithm update)

Like I specified, their algorithm update was targeted at down-ranking sites that promote junk science with regards to medicine, and while communism certainly is an undesirable system, promotion of communism and "here's why you shouldn't vaccinate your kids" aren't going to be equally targeted by the algorithm update given the stated purpose of said update. (unless those left wing sites also happen to promote anti-vaxxerism)

Depending on what your searching for, it could easily full under the phrase, "reality has a well known liberal bias." often when I hear conservatives complaining about bias, it's when it's in line with climate change, evolution and other scientific facts that conservatives are often on the wrong side of.

You might have a point if it weren't for genuine scientific research illuminating Google's bias.

Within the past week, Google's Youtube has come under increasing scrutiny for significantly down-rating search results for Steven Crowder videos ... but only within the United States. The search algorithm provided unbiased results around the world, except in the US. Go figure.

*laughs* dude you realize EVERYONE is getting down rating on youtube, because if you talk about abortion, gay rights, or a dozen more things, doesn't matter if your pro, or insane, it gets down rated for not being consumer friendly. it has nothing to do with bias, and everything to do with what makes money.

Not consumer friendly, yes, that's the newest excuse. No doubt, people at Alphabet are immensely proud of themselves for coming up with that excuse. It even applies in some circumstances. Almost anything political can be classified as a CONSPIRACY THEORY and then conveniently classed as NOT CONSUMER FRIENDLY. One has to admire the tenacity with which they continue the denials of blatant bias ... despite videos where the leaders admit to blatant political bias.

Like the Russia collusion narrative, the Google narrative will continue ... until it doesn't.

DuckDuckGo is good if you value your privacy, as they (allegedly) don't save your search results or sell them to advertisers... in terms of quality and quantity, however, they're good, but they're no Google.
