I would like to ask all Christians and Non Christians alike the following 2 questions :

1) What are we here for on this earth?
2) What is my purpose on this earth?

You can answer anything you like, but please one request, please keep your answers positive as these questions are meant to help you as a person to think positively, OK?

Believe it or not this is intended to help all those who are having struggles, so answering these questions in a way that would help those with struggles would be a good answer, and there is no wrong or right answers, just keep them positive.

If you are having struggles , try to think of positive ways of expressing just that, you never know if someone else is having the same struggle.

We are here to become aware of who God is and to know who we are in Him. We can't be and broadcast His Light if we don't know the Light.

But you are God’s chosen treasure—priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience His marvelous light, and now He claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast His glorious wonders throughout the world. 1 Peter 2:9, TPT

1) What are we here for on this earth?
To continue a successful chain of existence stretching back 3.5 billion years. Do you really want to be the one to drop the ball?

2) What is my purpose on this earth?
Whatever I choose to make it. I opted for the following:
1. Trying to leave it marginally better than I found it. (That hasn't worked out as well as I would have liked.)
2. Don't drop the ball referenced in my first reply. (Success: two children; four grandchildren)
3. Decry hypocrisy, narcissism, self-righteousness, self-delusion and dishonesty. (It doesn't generate a lot of friends, but it does have positive effects for others.)
4. Seek to educate myself and assist others to do likewise. (Working quite well.)
5. Respect the environment and disrespect those who abuse it. (OK, the second half is not the "positive" spin that was requested, but you have to draw the line somewhere.)
6. Eat salmon at every opportunity. (Got the T-shirt.)
7. Never invade Russia in winter. (Winner.)

You are here to make some decisions.

1. DO you believe there is a God? Right answer- Yes
2. Will you choose to follow Him? Right answer- Yes
3. Will you follow Him:
Your way.
His way.
Right answer- His way
His way is Jesus.
Once you get this right, He will reveal to you His plans and purposes for your life

I like these answers and will include them in discussion in some of my posts, in detail and with Bible verses to back them up, but right now I am busy with new YouTube Videos updating and uploading... I work 6 days a week on a new job, so I am grateful to Jesus for getting me this new job.

I address this question often and have heard many answers.

Part of the reason for all the answers is the fact: you can take any commandment given in the Bible and say :”This is man’s objective” and have Biblical support to prove it, so “believe in the one who sent me”, “trust and obey”, “Make disciples”, “glorify God”, “accept Christ” and so on can all be shown with scripture to be “man’s objective”.

If I asked you: “Is there an overriding command which all other commands at subordinate to” what would you say?

All departments in any organization needs a brief mission statement subordinate to the Corporate statement, but what is man’s Mission Statement?

Could man’s mission statement be simply: “Love God, and secondly others, with all your heart soul, mind, and energy”?

The problem in fulfilling that Mission is the fact that an unbelievable huge Love (Godly type Love) is required.

The objective is not to never ever sin, but to obtain this Godly type Love is the first of man’s objective.

There are just something even an all-powerful Creator cannot do (there are things impossible to do), the big inability for us is to be created with instinctive (programmed) Godly type Love, since Godly type Love is not instinctive. Godly type love has to be the result of a free will decision by the being, to make it the person’s Love apart from God. In other words: If the Love was in a human from the human’s creation it would be a robotic type love and not a Godly type Love. Also if God “forces” this Love on a person (Kind a like a shotgun wedding with God holding the shotgun) it would not be “loving” on God’s part and the love forced on the person would not be Godly type love. This Love has to be the result of a free will moral choice with real likely alternatives (for humans those alternatives include the perceived pleasures of sin for a season.)

This Love is way beyond anything humans could develop, obtain, learn, earn, pay back or ever deserve, so it must be the result of a gift that is accepted or rejected (a free will choice).

This “Love” is much more than just an emotional feeling; it is God Himself (God is Love). If you see this Love you see God.

All mature adults do stuff that hurts others (this is called sin) these transgressions weigh on them burden them to the point the individual seeks relief (at least early on before they allow their hearts to be hardened). Lots of “alternatives” can be tried for relief, but the only true relief comes from God with forgiveness (this forgiveness is pure charity [grace/mercy/Love]). The correct humble acceptance of this Forgiveness (Charity) automatically will result in Love (we are taught by Jesus (Luke 7: 36-50) and our own experience “…he that is forgiven much will Love much…”). Sin is thus made hugely significant, so there will be an unbelievable huge debt to be forgiven of and thus result in an unbelievable huge “Love” (Godly type Love).

In order to be forgiven of sin you must first sin, so sin is necessary but not desired.

This messed up world is actually the very best place for willing mature adult individuals to see, receive, give, experience, accept and know Godly type Love. All these tragedies provide opportunities for Love, but that does not mean we go around causing opportunities, since we are to be ceasing these opportunities (there are plenty of opportunities) to show/experience Love.

You do not have to believe the Adam and Eve story is true to get lots of good messages from it. Most people go through a time in which they ask: “How could a Loving God allow such a thing”, which means “why does God not start us all out in a Garden type situation without, needy people, limited resources, death, and questions about His existence?”

What we can do is thank Adam and Eve for showing us and them that what we might consider the ideal situation is a lousy situation for man to fulfill his earthly objective. Adam and Eve as our very best all human representatives did not fulfill the objective while sinless in the Garden and really could not. The situation after sinning outside the Garden did provide a way to fulfill the objective.

I and it seems other have to have opportunities at our doorstep to respond with Love, if I would just cease the opportunities at some distance there might be few opportunities (tragedies) needed for me, so if you want to blame someone for all these tragedies blame me for not ceasing more earlier.

Hell does nothing for the people going to hell, but that was their choice since they kept refusing to accept God’s help (forgiveness, Love, grace, mercy, charity) to the point they will never humbly accept. Hell does help some willing individuals to not put off their acceptance of God’s help.

That is just an introduction.

Thanks for asking and helping me to clarify.

1. Why are we here?

Because the creator of the universe saw fit to place me here in this time and place. I am not an accident I am here on purpose.

2. What is our purpose?

My purpose is-I am here to have a relationship with my creator; who knew me before He created me within my Mother's womb (by the way thanks Mom for sharing your body). My creator has me here to serve and worship Him. Jesus says we are to "love God with all our hearts and souls," and to "love our neighbor as ourselves." That sounds like a very important purpose to me.

I really appreciate your putting this out for our thought and review. Blessings to you Russ Campbell.Congrats on the new job. God will bless you and allow you to serve Him there.

I would like to ask all Christians and Non Christians alike the following 2 questions :

1) What are we here for on this earth?
Think of the earth as the matrix a Spiritual/Biological world set apart from the real world that God lives in.. But this world in this life we are shielded from the knowledge of God. Why? To learn enough about God in a given life time and to make a choice. A choice to serve Him or serve self.

Why do we need this separation from God to make this choice? Imagine an insanely rich man wanted a true friend. but the problem is he is so rich no matter where he goes people know of him and his crazy money. the problem is he wants a friend to want to be with him because they are truly friends and not because of what he can offer. So he sets out hiding his identity so people can accept and or reject him based on who they are inside and not based on self preservation or greed.

Yes in this world we know of God but have absolutely no idea what that really means. here we choose based on our personal compatibility with what we think we know of God.
2) What is my purpose on this earth?
To spend your life trying to learn enough about god to make a decision on whether you wish to serve him for an eternity or to serve self. And if you so decide early to serve (starting soon) You will earn reward in the next. power position authority ect.

What specifically are you to do? find need and fill it. the rest is gravy.

Take everything you said and pack it down to a generalizing paragraph or two.

Why are we here what is my specific purpose.

To be separated enough from God to make a choice about whether to serve... Why do we serve? love. then everything you said about love is relevant.

How ever there is a force multiplier you did not consider in the parable of the talents. we take the love God has given and invest it in him and it will double and if we are faithful with little he will increase our ability over and over again. So where as our love in the beginning may not be enough... it will be if you are faithful to the love you have been given.

The idea here is to love our God with all of our being first. meaning put God before the rent the wife before the kids. and soon enough the things you put in second place will have received more love from your newly expanded love than if you loved then with all that you where before God expands your ability. By putting God first in the chain of love everyone else gets more.

But even so, if we boil it down to a simple paragraph and only look at the high points. these are the choices and things we are here to make. to decide to serve God (and yes in it love Him and your neighbor as you certainly can not serve God with this love) and like you said the love you have will not be enough but as Jesus taught if we are faithful to the love we have we will be given more! So that we can invest more.

But in this decision to serve we must be protected from his glory, as for many it would be euphoric and the decision to serve would ultimately be one of self preservation rather than a desire to serve/love. So we need this world that is seperate from the known glory of God and the evidences of hell and the second death.

So again without direct first hand knowledge our heart decide who it is we will love and or serve. Self or God.

Soory if that is not what you where looking for.
I am aware of everything you said but i condensed it down to service as service to God can not happen without anything you already mentioned.

OK
I did say: "Love is the first of man’s objective", meaning we need that first and earth is the only place we can initially obtain that Love. We are also here to grow that love, which can only happen with use.
From 1 Cor. 13: 1-4 we know if we try to do anything without Love it is worthless. We also know Love is the compelling force behind all God does and we should be doing.

So what is love without service? can one love with serving?

If love and service go hand in hand why are you splitting hairs?

Look at the 4th line in my last post.

Why do we serve? love I have paired the two as one being the fuel for the other.

Ecclesiastes 8:15

15 Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun.

If you have this God given Love you will serve.
We have to have Love first to "do" anything right.
