No. The New Testament church began earlier than that.
Beginnings are difficult to pin down.

What I meant by that was that it (their following Jesus' instruction and fleeing) divided those that were saved and those that perished in Jerusalem.

But I'm speaking of a specific religious system that was destroyed in 70 A.D.

What was unique about that system was that it was rooted in a covenant with God (although I do recognize that some cults will also make that claim as well).
It seems you are stuck in a "religious system" that teaches that some other "religious system" was destroyed in 70 A.D....... and other teachings in the "religious system" that are not in line with Yahuweh's Plan, Purpose, Word, nor with Yashua's Salvation.

No, why should they be difficult to pin down ?

Yahuweh SEPARATED His children , calling them out , set them "out" for Himself, as written, throughout Jesus Life and throughout the New Testament....

EK, as in Ekklesia, called out ones, born again onesh, born again by the WILL OF THE FATHER, not by the will of man.....

Yahuweh "divides" (recognizes and knows) His children rightly, no matter where they are, even in (frequent) mixed groups today.

Because I could also cite the OT and say words of the prophets were "the beginning". Gratefully, God seems to have much more mercy than humans do and allows for people to catch on in their own time.

I believe God's ultimate plan is to UNITE creation unto Him.....not divide:

Ephesians 1:10 ~ And this is the plan: In the fullness of time He will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.

Maybe read the OP. There most certainly was a religious system that was destroyed in 70 A.D.

The teachings of the religious system that has apparently gotten your support
do not line up with Scripture. Scripture is the Standard , so everything and anything that or any religious system says or does or teaches that is contrary to Scripture should not be accepted.
What you said "I believe God's ultimate plan...." etc etc ...
(note that "God's ultimate plan" is clearly written in Scripture),
but your posts and referrals in line with your religious system(?) , (all from your religious system?) ,
are apparently and clearly opposed to God's Word.

Rather read Scripture and believe Yahuweh.
Jeremiah 44:29
This will be a sign to you, declares the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, so you may know that My threats of harm against you will surely stand.

Matthew 24:15 - 17
So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination of desolation,' described by the prophet Daniel (let the reader understand),

“Then those in Judea must flee to the hills.

Let no one on the housetop come down to retrieve anything from his house.
